Raceway starts
The Clinton 'Kinsmen
Raceway will be starting its
11th season on June 29, and
will be racing every Sunday
afternoon until. September
28, with post time at 1:30
each day.
Included in the regular 10
races 'each day, will be a
number of features at the
track, which bills itself as the,
family track because of the'
playground, picnic grounds
and brand new Olympic-sized
pool nearby.
Four ,Ontario Sired Stake
races will be, staged for
purses totalling nearly
$46,000 including the two-
James Fulton of Mitchell
formerly ' of Grey Township
celebrated his 100th birthday
at open house at Ritz
Lutheran Villa on Monday.
He was born in Grey
Township Huron County on
June 16; 1880 and farmed on
the 16th near Moncrieff,
before moving to Mitchell.
He worked for the depart-
ment of highways mainly on
Highway 23 south of Mitch-'
ell.
His family held a private
party for him on Saturday
year old colt pace on July 27,
and the three-year-old filly
trot on September 7.
Other highlights of the
meet include a ,driver's
competition on July 13, a leg
of the. Ontario. Harness
Horseman's Association
stake on August 3, the Media
Elliott Memorial Trot on
August 31, and the. final leg
of the. Clinton-Goderich
pacing series on' September
14.

Dan Donnelly, a 19 year old
Gnderich native who,has had
a life-long love affalr' with
harness horses.
night and his 90 year old
sister Mrs. Mary Moir of
Detroit was present.
He had a daughter
Marjorie and a son Jack who
died several years ago.
Also, a sister Mrs. Eliza-
beth Keys formerly of
Cranbrook and Brussels,
predeceased him. •
He is a member of the
Presbyterian Church in
Mitchell and elder of that
church and was once a
member of the choir.
