TIME
From the middle of June to
early in July, you'll probably
be very tempted not to resist
those little square boxes
mounded with plump, well-
shaped, deep solid red Ont-
`ario,• strawberries, Good!
Don't resist. 'One cup of fresh ,
l Ontario strawberries yields
only 55 calories and as well,
,they are an excellent source
of Vitamin C, so top your
morning cereal with some,
just to be sure you get the
"C" first thing in the
morning. Use them fresh, or.
Istretch the season by turning
some into jam, and maybe
freeze part of the crop far
later use.
Whatever you do with the
berries, keep them dry until
you use them. "Wet" straw-
berries will become victims
of mold and spoil very
quickly. Berries left in boxes
for more than a day will
bruise, soften and spoil.

Home economist, Mrs.
Laura Lee Marshall was the
guest speaker at the June
meeting of the St. Ambrose
C. W. L.
She gave a very interesting
talk on 'nutrition, shopping
tips and 'cooking for one or
two with special emphasis on
senior ladies present. Anne
Ryan thanked our guest and
presented her with a small
gift. A delicious lunch was
served by Helen Blake.
The regular meeting was
then opened by president
Marianna Ryan. Nineteen
members and two guests
answered the roll Call "My
Gardening Hint." Reports
were heard from all commit-
tee convenors and tickets for
the C.W.L.'s upcoming draw
were distributed.
Pat Nolan presented Irene
Blake with her past presi-
dent's pin and thanked her
for her hard work. Commit-
tees were set up for, the
upcoming shower for Yvonne
Blake.
In other business, it was
decided to present the Brus-
sels area sponsored Refugee
Family with a fruit basket.
The C.W.L. will also be
sending a donation to our
ordained mission priest, in
South America. No further
meetings will be held until
September but the annual
children's picnic will be held
at Marg Van Ness's in late
July.
