Mrs. Robert Hastie attended the Vanda Seminar at the Holiday Inn, London last Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Austin, Matthew and Peter of Tillsonburg spent the weekend with Mrs. Wm. Rev. and Mrs. John Ball of ' The first annual stow-pitch tournament sponsored by the Brussels Optimists was held this past weekend in Brussels: Ten teams participated with Howick, Belgrave, Listowel, Mitchell and Brussels Optimists advanCing to the "A" division. Mitchell and Listowel played Sunday night to a 9.8 win for Listowel and won the "A" championship trophy and a cheque for $125. In the "B" division Wingham, Goderich, Correspondent MRS. GEORGE:BROWN 335-3424 Faith was the theme of the worship held by the Knox Presbyterian ladies Women's Missionary Society on June 11th at the home of Mrs. Isabel Adams. The hostess opened the meeting with the Call to Worship and read from the book of Luke 7 chapter. Mrs. Jas. Robinson gave the minutes and roll call was answered by a verse containing the word, "Faith." The, offering was received and dedicated by the acting president The devotional theme on Faith was given by Mrs. I. Adams. "If God so clothed the grass ) Stroud spent the weekend how much more will. UNIT 2 U.C.W Unit 2 of Gorrie United Church Women met at the home of Mrs. Robert Hastie Wed. June 111 Mrs. Delbert Clegg was in charge of the worship service. The theme of the meeting) "Canadian Citizehship" was taken by Mrs. Clegg, Outlining the meaning; re- sponsibilities and privileges of citizenship which included a reading on Canadian Citizenship. The worship service closed with a short 'prayer. In conclusion, all members took part in a discussion session on Canadian Citizenship. The' roll call "The history of missions in our church and fi community was answered by 13 members. The president Mrs. Alex Taylor conducted the business. The minutes of the May meeting were readby the secretary Mrs. John Strong and Mrs. Delbert Clegg gave the treasurer's report. Mrs. Taylor announced the General United Church Women's meeting to be' held June 18, at 8:15 p.m. and gave out. the Bazaar plan sheets - the date of the Bazaar is Saturday Novenaber 22. The offering and shut-in Flower Fund was received. The president closed the meeting with prayer, and refreshments were served by Mrs. Harry Gowdy, Mrs. Cecil Grainger and the hostess. Members are reminded that the next regular meeting will. be September 17 at the home of Mrk. John McCutcheon, with a study on. Japan.
