it will take a powerful
force to make a dent in
the enemy's armour.
This year Uniroyal
Chemical has committed
Wypout to the fight and
this hard-hitting herbi-

Mr. SnoW told a meeting of
the Ontario Trucking Associ-
ation the government doesn't
like imposing regulations,
but a mandatory safety in-
spection program of -tank
trucks is likely in the near
future.
It provides growers with
effective control before
there is a chance of
yield loss. Wypout is
effective on wheat,
barley, lentils, rapeseed,
mustard, fababeans,
sugar beets, sunflowers,
flax and peas.
"Any safety' malfunction
on tank trucks (carrying gas-
oline or chemicals) could lead
to needless death or injury
...We have no choice but...
mere regulation,” said Mr—
Snow.
Tank-truck inspection is
the first step. The • federal
government has drafted
rules covering definitions of
dangerous chemicals, re-
sponsibiliy of drivers of
hazardous cargo vehicles,
including what to do if an
accident occurs, warning
signg,'"'etc. "
The new federal rules -
expected to become law with-
in six months - Won't apply in
all cases in Ontario until the
provincial governmen't
approves them.'
Ontario will spend $29
