Penetang, London, Stratford, Thornhill, Brampton, Lucknow, Wing- ham and Belgrave. ,The successful gathering con-, eluded with a delicious dinner served by the ladies of the Women's Institute at the Institute Hall. Master of ceremonies was Dr. Thomas Brydges. Mrs. Lila Higgins spoke on the family history and told some interesting anecdotes. Plana were made to make this an annual event. - Chief Dan. George's prayed read by Mrs. Cecil Coultes, opened the meeting when the . afternoon unit of the U.C.W. met in the Sunday School room. Evening Unit of the Belgrave United Church Women was held at the home of Mrs. George Michie with 14 members present. Mrs. John G.Roberts led the worship service. The scripture lesson, the parable of the sower, was read by Mrs. Ross Anderson. Miss Annie Cook led in prayer. The meditation Planting and Reaping, was given The business Was conduct- ed by the group leader, Mrs. Jack Taylor. Mrs. John MacIntosh had charge of the program which was a continuation of the study of Japan. Stories of the Atomic bombing in Hiro- shima were read and also the life story of a Japanese girl, Setsuko Thurlowf who surviv- ed the bombing and later, married a Canadian and is presently liVing in. Toronto. L unch was served by Mrs. George Michie's group. Holiday week-end visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Edgar were Mr. and Mrs. Maitland Edgar, Dianne and Dean, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Park, all of Petrolia, Ricardo Rescaldani of Argentina,. South America Miss Brenda Edgar of Waterloo. Jesse Arnold, infant son of `Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Louttit of Thunder Bay, was received 'into Knox United Church, Belgraye at the Sunday morning service. Mr. and Mrs. Louttit and Andre are former Belgrave resi- dents. The Belgrave Weekly euchre ended the season with a "Shoot" party last. Wednesday evening with 11 tables in play.
