Let us recall some
of these happy, times. Were
we all at home enjoying
something like beautiful
music, or a -good book, or a
television, program? Was it a
visit we made:or company we
had? Whatever our enjoy-
ment let "us bow our heads
and quietly pray thanking
God for the happy. times. The
hymn, "Happy the Home"
was sung then Mrs. Bolt read
the poem "Who's Me?" and
led in prayer.
Mrs., Coultes suggested
that each member answer in
writing the question "Have I
a story to tell?" ' This
narrative would be passed on
to descendants who, would
enjoy many, interesting incid-
ents of the past. that would •
never have been known.
Mrs. Alice Scott continued
the study from Mark, read-
ing verses..43750. This is the„
account 'of the arrest includ-
ing the kiss- of betrayal by
Judas perhaps the grimmest
and most terrible thing in all
the, gospel story. During all
the excitement and terror of
the mob and those who came
to make, the arrest, 'Jesus is
-the one oasis.of serenity. For
him the struggle in, the
garden was over and now
there was the peace of the
man who knows that he is
following the will of GOd.
Mrs. Coultes chose Ener-
gy for .the study of Japan,
comparing their problems
with those of Canada. ~ We
have rich oil resources and
uranium but 90% of Japan's
energy resources must be
imported. Japan hopes to
discover means of using such
natural resources as sun-
shine and wave action, wind
and geothernial energy. For
years Japan has used solar,
heating to supply bathing
waterand now large amounts
of government assistance are
being made available for the
development of the more
efficient solar 'energy sys-
