new Roth store
(continued from Page 3) fresh cut meats. be featured, Mr.` Roth said
it's going to operate on a trial
basjs until he pees what
demand there is.
He said he won't be
making any additions to his
staff this summer because of
the larger store, however, he
does plan to rehire students
that have worked for him
other summers. Mr. Roth
said he has not made a final
decision, but there will be a
possibility of adding two or
three more to his staff later
on in the fall.'
Mr, Roth said Knechtels
has an equipment-refinishing
centre, where surplus
shelving, display and re-
frigeration equipment from
other stores is purchased,
refinished and then put to
use in KnechtelP stores.
When Roth's Food
Market opened back in 1975,
the store was without an
experienced butcher and
didn't offer a selection of

Since that time, Bill
Laverty has, come on staff as
the store's meat manager.
Mr. Laverty owned and
operated his own butcher
shop in Seaforth for
approximately 10 years
before joining the staff at
Roth's.
Produce is bought as fresh
as possible everyday from
Net VVebster's in London.
The new store will house
large walk-in coolers for
meats, produce and dairy
sprodutts, along with a large
walk-in freezer which Mr.
Roth said was built by the
developer to their
specifications. He likes to
demonstrate how well the
freezer works by banging a
carton of ice cream against .a
wood shelf showing how
solid it is.
The freezers and coolers
will run off the power from' 12
compressors. ''These
compressors, said Mr. Roth,
are used to, the full ad-
vantage of the store."

designed to blow warm air
throughout the building

save on heating costs and to
conserve energy.
