The regular morning
service in Knox Presbyterian.
Church had to be cancelled
on Sunday owing to the
painting not being finished.
On. Tuesday, April 29,
approximately 30 ladies from
five local groups of
Stonecraft Bible coffees
gathered together at the
Cranbrook Community
Centre for a special hour of
prayer. All sat down for a
lunch at 11:30. Mrs. Gladys
Ellsmore spoke words of
welcome and thanked the
Cranbrook ladies for ar-
ranging the tables etc. Bible
readings were given by
Helen Van Veen, Joan
Albrecht, Chris Ten Pas,
Arlene Weber, Jean Koetzier
and Honeka Purdy. Later
Gorrie
groups were formed for a
prayer time for world and
local needs.
Don Cotton, was, trans-
ferred from the f.istowel
Hospital to Stratford last
week where he will under go
surgery on Monday. Visiting
Mrs. Cottom at home and
with Don in hospital on the
weekend were Mr. and Mrs.
Angus Starr of Alliston and
Howard Cotton and Mr. and.
Mrs. Maurice Newton of
Shelburne. •
Mrs. Frank Workman was
a delegate from the
Cranbrook W.I. to the.
Officers Conference in
Kitchener on April 29, 30 and
May 1.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter
Johnson and girls, London,
visited Mr. and Mrs. Gordon
Engel and family on Sunday.

Institute, held its annual
meeting commencing with a
pot-luck supper at the home
of Mrs. Glenn Johnston. The
District president Mrs,
William Humphries of
Walton installed the officers
for the coming year as pre-
sented by the nominating
committee. Past President -
Mrs. Alvin Grainger; Pre-
sidents (a committee of
three), Mrs. Alvin Grainger,
Mrs. Glenn Johnston, Mrs,
Alexander Graham; 1st Vice-
President - Mrs. Cecil
Wilson; 2nd Vice-President -
Mrs. Robert Gibson.
Mrs. Gibson will also con-
tinue as secretary-treasurer;

interesting talk on

meeting June 4, which the
Institute will cater, and the
Bus trip on June 19.
The Ode was sung and the
Collect was repeated at the
opening. Mrs. Robert Gibsoni
secretary-treasurer) read the
minutes and the roll call was
answered by paying their
dues and many also offered a
favorite recipe.
