the program they presented
for:the Festival of Light in
Fort Meyers, Florida.
The eight minute show will:
be held between I p.m. and
1:30 p.m.
Terry Johnston said one
problem faced in organizing
the Nielsen Field Classic was
that people in the area are
more familiar with sports like
hockey, biseball, etc.

Student • . athletes
competing in' four of the
eight events at the Nielsen
Field, Meet in Seiforth on
Saturday will .be re-
presenting Canada at the'
Pan-Am Junior competition
in Sudbury in August.
One of those athletes is
Mike Brennan from
Kingsville, the top junior
javelin thrower in the
province. -
But the meet will also give
local residents an
opportunity to see Seafortb
athlete Johnny Nielsen' in
action. Johnny recently won
a gold medal . at the
Mansfield. Relays in
Mansfield, Ohio, where
athletes from' 300 schools in,-
Canada and the United
States competed in field
events. Johnny will also be
representing Canada in the
Pan-Am Juniors meet in
Sudbury.
Other local athletes taking
Part in Saturday's meet are
Brendan Lane of St.
Columban, who will be'
throwing the javelin,-Shelley
Driscoll, Mary Thompson
and Kathy Larone,
competing in the shot and
discus events and Eddy and
'Dennis Nielsen, also
competing in shot put and
discus.
SDHS coach Terry
Johnston, the meet
organizer, said Monday he
hopes local people will come
out and watch the meet,
which starts Saturday at 10
a.m. on the high school
grounds.
Mr. Johnston said there
isn't any 'admission charge
for the meet, and there will
be a lunch booth on the
grounds, operated by the
SeafOrth Agricultural
Society.
Mr. Johnston said about
55 athletes will' be competing
in the day long event, from
Windsor to east of Toronto.
The Seaforth District High
School Girls' Marching Band
will be presenting a special
