Seventeen members of the
chidlren's choir of Knox
United Church, 13elgrave,
rendered the anthem,44Joy Is
Like the Rain'? very
enthusiastically before
occupying the centre front
pews where they were joined
by all toddlers of the con-
gregation. Mrs. Geroge
Procter, organist, ac-
companied the choir.
Rev. John G. Roberts
introduced his message by
revealing the legend of a.
song "Join Your Hands: and
Sing," which - a 60, voice
Welsh girl's choir had pre-
sented in. London, recently.
According to legend a Man
climbed to the summit 'of a
mountain to ,. survey i the,
world. Only dark clouds
could be seen; but noises of
worldly arguing and jangling
were heard below.
Soon hundreds of children
joined hands at the mountain
base and sang.
Suddenly the clouds dis-
appeared, the hickerifig
ceased; all was peace and ,
'oy; so with us, our troubles
disappear with the sound' of
singing. ' '
