Mr,S. Walter Bewley opened
the 'devotions on the Easter
Theme. Mrs. Nelson Marks
read the scripture from the
16th chapter of Mark with
Mrs. Bewley giving
meditation and prayer.
Mrs. Herb Traviss chose
as her Topic, "Joy from a
stone rolled away,',.' telling of
the Easter Story. Then an
article on Fault Finding
followed by a poem, Among
Ourselves and closing with a
prayer.
Business was conducted
by Mrs. Allan McCall in the
absence of the president
Mrs. Alex Gulutzen, opening
with a poem on Easter.
Minutes were read by Mrs.
Howard Hackwell, then 19
members answered the roll
call. Treasurer's report was
given by Mrs. Dorothy
Sholdice, she reported
$95.00 had come in for the
,Bakeless Bazaar.
Invitations were read from
Brussels United Church to
attend their thankoffering on.
Sunday evening, April 20th
at 7:30, speaker to be Mrs.
Ward from Wingham and
from Seaforth Presbyterian
Church to hear their speaker,
Mrs. Fink from Goderich on
Tuesday evening, April 29th
at 8 p.m. Members are also
invited to attend the one
week of Crusade for Christ in
Blyth Memorial Hall.
Volunteers are also asked for
to go to the Huron Day
Centre for the Homebound at
Huronview in Clinton.
Plans were made for the
U.C.W. Thankoffering with
several offering to take
lunch. It was voted to send a
donation to the Baie Verte
Hospital, Medical Centre in
Newfoundland.
Lunch was served by the
hostesses, Mrs. Allan Searle,
Mrs. Gordon " Murray and
Mrs. Nelson Marks.

A Walton couple, Mr. and
Mrs. Paul Ponomarenko
arrived home late Saturday
night following an enjoyable
three-week stay in Florida,
where they visited with
friends from Hamilton and
Toronto over the Easter
season:
Mrs. Gordon Churchward
and her daughter Mrs.
Csumrik of Toronto spent
last Monday with Mrs. Jean
Broadfoot. Miss Amy Love,
Toronto accompanied them
and remained for a few days
with her sister.

end with their parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Roily Achilles were
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Sills and
family, Seaforth; Mr .and
Mrs. William Taylor and
family. Lucknow; Mrs. Linda
Anderson, Jennifer and
Kevin and Jerry Achilles of
Bellwood.
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Huether
visited with Mr. and Mrs.
Hartley Fischer of Listowel
recently.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kestle
of London visited on day last
week with Mrs. Jean
Broadfoot.
Crowd at
Thankoffering
A large crowd attended the
Easter Thankoffering service
on Sunday evening at Duffs
United Church, Walton.
Eleven churches from the
surrounding community
were well represented.
Greeters at the door were
Mrs. Ron Bennett, Mrs.
Graeme Craig and Mrs. Viola
Kirkby.
Mrs. Don McDonald,
U.C.W. president opened
with an Easter Poem and
gave a warm welcome to.
everyone. Hymns were
announced by Mrs. Murray
Dennis. Mrs. Ray Huether
accompanied at the orgar
assisted by Jeanne
McDonald at the piano,
Scripture readings were
taken by Mrs. Don Dennis
and Mrs. Merton HackWell.
The Craig Ellen Singers
from Goderich entertained
with Several numbers
throngh out the service.
Offering was received by
Mrs. Rae Houston; Mrs. Ken
McDonald and Mrs. Don
Fraser, and dedicated by
Mrs. Murray Dennis.
Mrs. Campbell Wey intro-
ducted the guest speaker,
Miss Ann Reuber of Strat-
ford, formery of Seaforth,
Ann has taken part , in the
Presbyterial and recently
conducted a workshop, also
was a teacher before going to
Japan.
She described her ex-
perience she had as a
Missionary in Japan where
she spent three years
teaching. Missionaries are
needed in Japan. She spoke
on the Miracle of Easter, it
particularly is a good time tc
speak on the missionaries hi
