The overall final standings of the teams for the regular season werae: Sure Shots 132, Bad News Bears 109, Team 4-103, Poor Exc-u-u-se 98; No Name Brand - 92 and Toilet Bowlers - 75. The following were the members,' of the winning team Sure' Shots - Ray Adams, Lorna Young, Pat Newby, Idella Wilson, Family party a success The family dinner and dance which was held in the B.M.G. community centre on April 11 was a success. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and especially the wee ones, rec committee members who sponsored the event said. Stevens Disc Jockey played every type of song, for young and old. Wintario tickets donated by Stevens D.J. were won by a number of people for spot dances. Other prizes . were donated by the recre- ation committee. Winners were: Ages 1 to 3-Sherri Huether, Danny Hall; 4-6-Krista Hastings and Greg Wheeler; 7-9-Tracy Bosman, Steve Wheeler; 10-1.2; Charlene Stephenson, Jeff Alcock; 13+ Debbie Higgins and Peter Exel. Bluevale couple honoured at surprise party Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Moffat of Bluevale were completely taken by surprise on Saturday evening when 20 friends and relatives had a party in honour of their 40th Anniversary. They were married on April 13, 1940 by the Rev. Gregg) former minister of Bluevale Presbyterian Church. The evening was spent playing euchre and at lunch time they were presented with a Ruby Bon Bon dish, a cade plate and a plaque. Luna was served on the table held a 3 tier Anniversary fruit cake decorated with Ruby Roses. Each replied thanking everyone for the evening. They have one son Paul of R.R. 4, Wingham and one grandson. Those present came from Bluevale, Morris Township and Brussels. The Brussels Curling Club elected new officers and gave out trophies to winning teams at its recent annual dinner !Reefing. The, new executive are: Past President-Max Oldfield; President-Fred Uhler; First Vice-President-bob Alex- ander; Second Vice- Presi- 'dent-Nancy Exel and Secret- ary-Treasurer-Norman Hoover. This is the first time that a woman has ever been vice, president of the club. The D.A. Rann trophy for the highest score in 1979=80 went to Ernie Lewington, Nora Stephenson, Jack Bryans and Jim Oldfield with 451/2 points. In the December 1979 draw. winning teams were: First-Bob Alexander, Jennet Locking, Mervyn Bauer, and Howard Hackwell with 441/2 points; Second-Ross Veitch, Karen Uhler, Don Procter, Hennie Terpstr“agg-33), 41 points; Third-Fred Uhler, Fran Bremner, John Bryans, Annette Lewington (agg.-34) 41 points; Fourth-Stewart Steiss, Jean Oldfield, George Zwep, Frank Hooper (agg. 31), 41 points. Hully Gully, near Varna, with the Super Digger Motocross. This weekend marks the third annual running of the Senior and Expert classic as Hully Gully enters it's seventh Season of sanctioned racing. It will feature de- fending cup winner Kirk Bigelow of Rochester, Michigan, who will be challenged by other top riders from across Ontario. ' Greg Cardiff and Danny McKay.. For the first week of playoffs men's high single went to Ron Maurais with 230. He was closely followed by Jim Adams with 229 and Dennis Newby with 228. Dennis Newby bowled a 632 triple to give him high triple for the night. Jim Adams and Greg Cardiff tied for second with 619 and Fred Sawyer was third with 600. For the ladies, high single was 207 bowled by Jennifer JackSon. Second high was Roxy Jacklin with 197 and third was Marlene Cowie with 192.
