Guests were present from
Blyth, Brussels, Cranbrook,
Londesboro and Seaforth for
the Walton Women's
Institute meeting, March
19th in the community hall.
Mrs. Keith Rock, second vice
presided. in the absence of
the . President .Mrs. Harold
Hudie who was ill.
As this was the Tweeds-
muir History meeting the
Tweedsmuir, Books put
together by the branch
curator, Mrs. Nelson Reid
were on display. A table of '
antiques . and Indoor
Gardening projects was also
displayed.
As the curator was unable
to be present due to sickness,
Mrs. Bill. Humphries was in
charge of the program. After
welcoming everyone, a,
reading from the school and
home reader in 1901,,
' 'Bobby's Question" was
given by Mrs. Humphries.
Tracey Bennett
entertained with her high-
land dancing, Mrs. Viola.
Kirkly gave readings. Mrs,
Herb Traviss and Mrs,
Emerson Mitchell played
several musical numbers,
Mrs. Ron Bennett gave a
reading.
GUEST SPEAKER
The guest speaker Mrs.
Marilyn Engel from Cran-
brook was introduced by
Mrs. B. Humphries. Marilyn
Engel is the Tweedsmuir
Curator for the district. and
was Branch Curator. She had
a history kit on display and it
was passed around for
everyone to see how she
compiled the history.
Work in the Cranbrook
area began in 1974-75
stretching out to farm
history. Interesting facts
were given on how to start a
book. She encouraged the
W.I. to have a committee as
it's too much for one person.
Marilyn showed slides of
Cranbrook past and present.
Marilyn was thanked by
Leona McDonald and pre-
sented with a plant.

a lively sing-song followed by
a corn ical skit presented by
Phyllis Mitchell and Marjory
Humphries.
Members will go out for
supper for the annual
Meeting, coming back to the
hall for the meeting.
Committees were chosen for
card parties on. Afiril 1 and
April 15 with April 29 set for
,the dessert euchre; several
offered to make posters.
