February 13 the 8th and
16th Unit met at the home of
Mrs. Don Fraser.
The devotions were
opened with Mrs. Ken
McDonald reading an article
from the Christian Home
Magazine entitled "We are
called to line out the
Gospel." Christian Steward-
ship is that way of life in
which we act out what is
required of us as Christians
in the world.
An interesting topic was
given by Mrs. K. McDonald,
"Tearing up your love" who
demonstrated this message
by using two hearts, the first
heart was torn in pieces
showing how our heart and
love is all gone, when we
don't shdre God's love. The
second heart symbolizes how
Jesus gave us new heart
when we were baptized.
Everytime we hear his word
forgiving us and cverytime
we receive his body and
blood in communion.
Mrs. D. Fraser presided
for the business. The
, minutes were read• by Mrs.
Alvin McDonald. There were
five members present. Of-
fering was received and
coming events were men-
tioned. Lunch was served by
Mrs. Doug Fraser.

met on Wednesday afternoon
February 20 at the home of
Mrs. Cliff Ritchie with a good
attendance- of members and
other unit members as
guests.
Mrs. Cliff Hoegy opened
with the thought for the
afternoon, "How beautiful
today can be." Mrs. Barry
Hoegy read an artier, "Self
Control". A reading "They
cared enough to go without"
was given by Mrs. C. Hoegy.
Mrs. Harvey Craig intro-
duced the guest, Nancy
Craig, a registered nurse at
the Baie Verte Hospital in
Newfoundland, who showed
a film on the hospital and
slides of the community. She
had on display biscuits that
were made) andicured fish. •
She said pe.ople's diet is very
poor due to me expense ut
fruit that has to be shipped
in. There is a lack of enter-
tainment for the young
people. Nancy is formerly
from Morris Township.
Mrs. Graeme Craig
thanked Nancy.
A special collection was
taken and was turned over to
Nancy to help with necessi-
ties at the hospital.
Lunch was served during
a social half hour. During a
short business period it was
decided to donate to the
March of Dimes. A U.C.W.
meeting precedes the World
Day of Prayer at 1 p.m. The
next meeting is to be held at
the home of Mrs. Martin
Baan.
