Jan, at that imeting, was also appointed Director to the Canadian Swine Breeders Association. Mr. and Mrs. van Vliet leave on Saturday, February 23rd for Victoria, B.C. where they will attend the Canadian Swine Breeders Convention. (Brussels Post Photo) at Lions Polar Daize (Continued from Page 1) In the 13, 14, and 15 years age group Jody Miller placed first, Debbie Higgins placed second and Kim Stephenson,placed third for the girls and Darrin Watts placed first; David Cosiitt placed second and Dean Rutledge placed third for the boys. In the 16. and over category winners for women were Joan Cardiff, Chris Sonburn and Trina Watts and the men's winners were David Stephen- son, Brian Sanderson and Carinan Machan. In the MerVs 16 years and over category, first prize went to Laurie Campbell and Gary Pipe who received toques and the second prize of $1 each went to Wayne Lowe and Fred Stevenson. In the women's class, first prize of the toques went to Cheryl Bauer and Jacquie Workman and the second prize of $1 each went to Joan Cardiff and Valerie Johnston. In a class for boys and girls 1, 2, and 3 years of age, winners were. Dana Mathers- first; Timmy .Machan-second and Jennifer Machan-third. . In the log pawing contest held on Saturday winners in the men's class were: Ken Josling and Ken Young with first and Ken Miller aild Dale Newman with second. In the ladies' class, Linda Saur andLou Stadelman won first and Brenda McCutcheon and Julie McCall won second. The Grey Township Fire Department took first place in the tug of war with the Intermediate, "Hockey Club placing second and the Brussels Stockyards placing third. Other teams participating in this event were: McDonald Buildall, Brussels Optimist Club, "The Cranbrook Crew", The Brussels Leo Club and the Brussels Lions Club. Roughly ,240 snowmobiles participated in the snowmobile poker rally and 30 participated in the cross country skiing rally. Winners of prize winning hands in the snowmobile poker really included Doug McGregor of Kippen, First- $50; Don Diegel of Walton, Second-$30; James Carter of Walton, Third-$20 and Karen Johnston of Bluevale-Fourth-$10.
