96 ..people question assessments
Open houses have been held in various
parts of Huron County during the last few
weeks to discuss the Section 86 tax
assessment.
The open houses were held in `Brussels,
Morris and Grey on January 14 and January
15 at the Brussels, Morris and Grey
Community Centre and over that two day
period, there were. 96 people out from the
tbree areas to discuss their assessment.
There were 32 people from. Morris, 35 from
Grey and 29 from Brussels. •
Ken Fagan, valuation manager from the
regional assessment office in Goderich said
that out of the 96 people who came, only 6
required changes on their assessment,
He saidthe majority of people so far have
been satisfied and that there haven't been as
many complaints as people just asking for •
explanations and that they anticipate a
certain amount of appeals every year.
He said they have also had a lot of phone
calls about the assessments and that they
were only too glad to discuss assessments
with people who called. *
•The last date for people to appeal their
assessments is March 7.
