Wroxeter
girl dies in
shooting
accident
Lora. Annette Shaw, 4, of
Wroxeter died
Wednesday as the result of
an accidental shooting.
The girl's parents James
and Lorraine Shaw and grand
parents lived on the same
farm but in two separate
residences. The girl's
grandfather James Donald
Shaw had been showing a
friend four of his rifles and
had laid them across a
chesterfield,
After the friend ,left the
little girl came in and was in '
the process of climbing up on
the chesterfield. Her
grandfather picked up two of
the rifles and one of the
guns, a deer rifle went off
and struck the girl in the
stomach.
Wingham O.P.P. said the
grandfather had taken the'
clip off but had forgotten to
check the chamber. The girl
was taken to the Wingham
and District Hospital but,
died shortly after
admittance.
No charges will be laid,
but it is believed that an
inquest is going to be held.
rsto date has been set.
