They went to Family Paradise after, The Federation of Agriculture held their annual meeting and dinner in the Community Centre on Tuesday, Dec, Ii at 12:30. The ladies of Knox Church catered for the dinner, Little Shannon Conley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Doug Conley is a patient in Listowel Hospital. The Smith families held their Christmas in the munity Centre on Sunday. Mr. Russel 'Playford and daughter Cindy .and Billie Mustowy„ of Thorold were weekend visitors with. Mr, and Mrs. Howard .Mitchell, Cindy attended the Smith Christwas party, Cranbrook WI has visit from Santa The December meeting of the Cranbrook W.I. was held at the Cranbrook Community Centre. Following a short business meeting, the area preschoolers and their moms were entertained. A delicious buffet style lunch was followed by a "Puppet Show" presented by Mrs. F. Workman and Mrs. L. Knight. Everyone joined in singing Christmas carols, and about 33 youngsters were delighted with a visit and a bag of treats frum Santa thus ending a very enjoyable afternoon. A special thanks to „Mrs. Lloyd Smith, Mrs. J. Conley, Mrs. B. Van Donkersgoe d, and Mrs. T. Baker and all the rest of the people who helped in arranging this delightful occasion. May this be your brightest, happiest Christmas! oxwb.wooMAT•Mos/usa The December meeting of the Melville Ladies Aids was held at the home of Mrs. Alex Steiss with an atten- dance of fourteen. Ruby Steiss, as leader, opened the meeting with, Behold I bring you good tidings of great joy. The scripture from Luke 2, verses 1-20 and the Medit- ation was read by Ethel Long followed with prayers by Mable Smith. Ruby Steiss gave a reading "the Gift." The secretary's report was given by Mrs. Steiss, the financial report by Mrs. Den- nis, and the sunshine report by Mrs. Long. The collection was taken by Mrs. Dennis. Mrs. Lulu Kerr gave some solos and instrumentals on her tape releorder. They were "Silver Bells, I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas, Sleep Holy Child, I Heard the Bells on Christmas day, and Rud- olph the Red Nosed rein- deer." Mrs. Steiss gave the topic on "No Room in the Inn." The roll call was answered by Christmas verses and poems. Ruby Steiss conducted three Christmas contests. There is to be no meeting for the month of January. Several items of business were dis- cussed. Ada Armstrong ga it a reading "Christmas Joys." Ruby Steis's read about the Three Wise Men who had no Christmas wish book, and Berva Dennis conducted a soap contest. A lovely Christmas lunch was served by Mrs. Mathe- son and. Mrs. Dennis assisted by the hostess.
