The draw was held at Oldfield's Pro Hardware Store and handing Mrs. Smith the money is employee Doug Sholdice. The next draw is to be held at Stephenson's Bakery and Grocery. Deputy Commissioner Bessie Blinkhorn was very proud to present Mariann Scott with the highest award in Guiding - the Canada Cord. This was Bessie Blink- horn's third cord present- ation in four years to Brus- Mr. and Mrs. Paul Panomarenko of Walton were Sunday sur-er guests with Mrs. Alvin; s ulutzen. Mrs. Jeanne Ireland, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Sweeney, Mrs. Jean Taylor, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Smith, Mr. and Mrs. JackBowman and Jim Bowman were Saturday evening guests with Mr. and Mrs. Len King of Listowel. Mrs. Adelne Smith returned home Saturday from a visit with Mr. and Mrs. Larry Lahn of Hanover. Kim Fritz of RR2, Brussels, a student at Seaforth Public School, was one of the winners in a literary contest on a Remembrance Day theme • sponsored by Seaforth Legion Branch 156. Kim won an award for the best junior essay entered in the literary contest. Atoms win tournament The Brussels Atoms took part in the Arthur Atom Tournament on Saturday playing 3 games to win the trophy. The first game was against Arthur who they defeated 7-1. Dean Wheeler and Marty Rutledge scored 3 goals each with Steve Wheeler getting the single. Asissts went to Craig Work- man, Jeff Alcock , Bobby Badley, Mike Saxon, lean Nicholson, Bruce Johnston. The second game they played was against George- town and they scored a 5-1 victory over their opponents. Marty Rutledge scored 3 goals, Dean Wheeler 2 goals for the home team. After the church service all the Girl Guides were invited back to Mariann's where a delicious lunch was served by Mrs. Spence Scott. For the next weeks the Girl Guides will be getting into the Xmas spirit by preparing their presentations for the Santa Claus Parade; the next week the Girl Guides will be singing Xmas Carols at the Nursing Home and closing with the Xmas Party.
