Intermediates win The Brussels "Bulls" Intermediate Hockey Club played their first home game , of the season on Sunday night against the Monkton Wildcats, In a good game of hockey that saw the lead bounce back and forth be- tween the two teams finally ended 6-5 in Brussels' favor, Monkton took the lead with a goal early .in the first period, which found both clubs play- ing wide open hockey and scoring a total of seven goals with Brussels one goal ahead With six seconds into the second, period Monkton came back to tie the score and then at the twelve minute mark scored one more goal to take the lead once more. Brussels came back to score two quick goals 39 seconds apart to regain the lead. Both teams were scoreless in the third period which gave Brussels 6-5 victory. Scoring the goals for Brus- sels was Kevin Carter, un- assisted; Don Hastie from Scott Wheeler & Gerry Wheeler; John Richmond from Bob McDonald; Scott Wheeler from Bob McDonald Bob McDonald from Don Hastie and Gerry Wheeler unassisted. The fellows played a good clean game of hockey to only a handful of spectators. Come on out and give them your support. They deserve it. Their next home game is Sunday, Nov. 11 at 8 p.m. against Mitchell. Come out and cheer them on. Two, of the minor hockey teams got their league sched- ules off to a good start picking up two wins. The Peewees were at home /to Huron Park on Friday night and scored a rather sound 16.1 victory over their visit- ors. Both teams played a good first period with Brus- sels leading by only 3 goals. The second and third periods found the home team gather- ing more momentum. Huron Park scored their only goal late in the third period, spoiling a shut-out for goalie Jeff McGavin. Scoring for Brussels was Kevin McArter with 7 goals, Marty Rutledge 3, Dean Wheeler 3, Sean Kuffer 2, Kevin Johnston 1. Paul Mockan 1 each. Assists went to, Darrin Watts, Kevin Leis and Kevin Wheeler. In exhibition games the Peewees & Bantams both played in Seaforth and were defeated by identical 6-1 scores. The Midgets were at home to Clinton in an exhibition game and won 4-2. Scoring for Brussels were Brian Tenpas 2, Ken Higgins and Ken Cousins 1 each.
