Ray Adams has highest game
The Western Ontario
Sectionals have been the aim
of Carol Wheeler in her
figure skating career thus
far, Now her goal is to make
it to the finals should she
place in this competition.
Carol has just recently
passed her Junior Competi-
tive Test in order to qualify
for Sub-Sectionals. On Sun-
day she qualified for the.
Western Ontario Sectionals
by placing fourth. To qualify
for this competition she had
to do both a compulsory
figure and free skate pro-
gramme.
The Western Ontario Sect-
ionals are being held in
Cambridge on November
17th.
Carol will have some rath-
er tough competition on the
17th as some of the skaters
she will compete against
have already passed their
Senior Competitive Test.
Good luck, Carol!
Kevin Wheeler, and
Catharine Cardiff and her
dance partner, Keith Baker,
will also compete in the
Sectionals at Cambridge.
Catharine has just recently
passed her Free Dance.
The Brussels Figure Skat-
ing Club has well over 100
skaters this season.
Ray Adams bowled the
highest game with a score of
250. Joe Adams was 2nd with
237 and Bill Johnston was
3rd with 230. Fred Cousins
bowled 571 to give him the
men's highest triple. Bill
Johnston was right behind
him with 565 and Dennis
Newby was 3rd with 552.
Wilda Higgins • had the
highest ladies' single with
her game 'of 239. Carolyn
Whitfield bowled 206 to have
the 2nd highest single and
Ruth Sauve was right behind
her with 204. Wilda Higgins
also had the highest triple of
the night with 635. Carolyn.
Whitfield was 2nd with 586
and Marlene Courie was 3rd
with 517.
In team results for the
night, Sure Shots took seven
points off of Poor Excuse.
Bob Young bowled really
well to help his team Bad
News Bears take 5 points off
of the Toilet Bowlers. No
Name Brand took 4 points off
of Team #4.
Team standings: Sure
Shots 36, Bad News Bears
32, No Name Brand 25, Team
#4 22, Poor Excuse 19 and
Toilet Bowlers 13 points.
