Marg 1 McCutcheon opened with a poem, "I Asked & Was Given," Eluned McNair gave a reading, "Thanksgiving Heart." Joanne and Bill King attended the Congress in Guelph held at McDonald Hall for three days in July. Joanne outlined their activities each day which commenced at 7 a.m. and Rev. Wittick was assisted by Rev. Darrell and Mrs. Webster on Sunday morning while church communion was being served. The Choir sang the anthem "Open My Eyes That I May See." Molly Cox entertained at Old Tyme Music on Monday afternoon. There was a good attendance of residents down to the auditorium to listen to the music. Huronview auxiliary held their Fall Bazaar Tuesday afternoon. The auditorium was decorated with the Hallowe'en theme in mind. The little ghosts, witches and pumpkins which were the table centre pieces are now up in the main dining room for our residents to enjoy. Winner of the quilt was Mrs. Mabel Jeffery from Exeter. Our "Candy Lady", Mable Garrow was busy again on Wednesday morning prepar- ing more candy for the terminated at midnight. The theme for the Congress was, "Power and Glory." Joanne Wended her thanks to the Melville church for selecting them as delegates and des- cribed the three days as a rich rewarding experience. Donna Knight presided for the business portion. A Card of Thanks was read from Isobel Adams. A request from John Boneschansker was received asking the Guild to cater to their 25th Wedding Anniversary on On October 12, George and Barb McCutcheon held a birthday party in honour of Mrs. Evelyn Brister of Leigh- On-Sea, England, whose birthday was Oct. 3, Michael Clarke who was one on Oct. October 27 at 1 p,m. for 50 people, with group 3 in charge. On October 28, group 1 will provide the lunch, to be served after the morning service. The Knight Christmas will be held at 1 p.m. on November 24 for 24 adults and 20 children, with group 2 catering. Group 3 will provide lunch after the morning service on Sunday, November 25 and Group 1 will be responsible for the Council Banquet for 24 at 7 p.m. on Nov. 20. Due to the increased her gift. Mrs. Mable Garrow thanked the Elimville ladies on behalf of those cele- brating birthdays. Mrs. M. Garrow, Mrs. Bernice Glousher, Mrs. Flor- ence Flood, Mr. Frank Bis- sett, Mrs. Elsie Henderson worked on Ceramic pieces which the Craft Room will be placing throughout the home. 4, and Vonne Brister, whose birthday was Oct. 6. Mrs. Brister spent the week in Brussels renewing acquaintances. She will be returning to England on Oct. 24, membership of the Lions Club, the members feel that the Library is no longer adequate and have requested that in the future their meetings, and dinners be held in the Brussels, Morris and Grey Community Centre, to which all members agreed, An invitation was ex- tended to all to attend an open meeting of the Majestic Institute at the • school on November 14, at 8:15 p.m.. A crowd attended the fall tea at Huronview on Oct. 16. Mrs: C. Lockhart and Mrs. May Gibson were at the door to welcome visitors. Mrs. J. Griffiths and Mrs. I. Durnin were in charge of the register and tea tickets. Goderich Twp. Women's Institute were in charge of the well laden bake table. The Clinton ladies waited on the tea tables, and the Blyth ladies looked after the kitchen. Those pouring tea were Mrs. H. Johnston, Mrs. C. Archibald, and Mrs. Mary Clairmont. There was a good display of crafts and baking from the craft room. The Day Care also had a few articles for sale. The Huronview auxiliary thanks all those who helped with donations and the bake table to make the fall tea a success. Fudge treat at Huronview residents who were still hungry for maple cream and fudge. We would like to thank Mable for sharing her recipe with us and going to the work of making the candy.
