Bluevale WMS welcomes guests to fall meeting

Mrs. Glenn Golley wel-
comed guests from Bluevale
United and Belmore Presby-•
terian Churches on. Sunday
evening when the fall Thank-
offering of Knox Women's
Missionary Society was held.
Following the singing of a
thanksgiving hymn, Dean
Golley played "He" on the
clarinet, accompanied by his
aunt, Mrs. Harold Johnston.
Mrs. William Elston led
devotions, stressing the
importance of being thankful
and mentioning things prec-
ious to everyone, this beauti-
ful country, crops, friends
and good health. She con-
cluded with a lovely poem,
"Beyond Our Asking."
Mite boxes are to be
collected at the November
meeting which will be held at
the home of Mrs. Gordon
Mundell.
The offering was received
, by Mrs. Ross Gray and Mrs.
Alex MacTavish with prayer
by Mrs. Golley. She then
introduced the guest speaker
Capt. lain Traimor of the
Wingham Salvation Army.
His theme was, "Whose
responsibility is it to help
those who need help?" and
he answered his question by
saying it is the responsibility
of every Christian to share
God's love.
Mrs. Keith Moffatt
thanked Captain Trainor for
a most interesting message,
saying it was very inspir-
ational to share his experi-
ences. She presented him
with a gift.
Dean Golley and Mrs.
Johnston played a second
musical selection "Faith in
God," and following the
singing of another hymn, the
meeting closed with prayer.
Lunch was served and a
social time enjoyed.
Masters Timothy and
Kenneth MacTavish spent
several days with their
grandparents Mr. and Mrs.
Alex MacTavish while their
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bob
MacTavish moved to their
new home on Frances St.
Wingham.
Mrs. Jack Willitts, Mrs.
Harold Grand and Mrs. Alex
MacTavish spent last week-
end with Mr. and Mrs. Allan
McColeman at Timmins and
attended the funeral of
Allan's father, Mr. Neil
McColeman.
Mr. & Mrs. Al Henderson
and family of Listowel and
Mr. & Mrs. Paul Moffatt and
Ryan were weekend visitors
with Mr. & Mrs. Stanley
Moffatt, the occasion being
Ryan's first birthday on
Saturday.
Sunday visitors with Mr. &
Mrs. George Fischer were
Mr. and Mrs.ialvin Fischer
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Elliott,
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hen-
ning, Mr. and Mrs. Joe
Walker, Marie, Sheila and
Kevin.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Taws of
London visited on Thanks-
giving Day with Mrs. Lolo
Mann.
A surprise party jour-
neyed to New Hamburg at
noon Sunday to honor Mr.
and Mrs. Lloyd Walker on
their 20th wedding anniver-
sary. Those present were

Wright, Mr. and Mrs. Gord-
on Wright, Shari & Jeffrey,
Mr. and Mts. Alex Mac-
Tavish, Mr. and WS, RosS
