CWL plans annual bazaar
St. Ambrose C.W.L. met
on October 9 in the church
basement. The president,
Mrs. Irene Blake, called the
meeting to order with the
League prayer. The roll call,
"my contribution to my
parish" was answered by 18
members.
Following the business re-
ports, several discussions
took place. Nine delegates
are to represent us at the
Deanery meeting in Clinton
on October 24. Mrs. Mari-
anna Ryan and Mrs. Marg
Van Nes are to coordinate the
birthday party for the nurs-
ing home.
Members are asked to help
with the upcoming bazaar
December 1, especially by
selling tickets for the draw,
and assisting the committees
for the various tables. If
everyone helps it will be as
big a success as last year, so
members were asked to give
it support!
A discussion took place
concerning the plight of
"Bottle Fed Babies" in the
third world. Members were
encouraged not to buy Nestle
products because of their
involvement in selling form-
ula to these families.
Good turnout
for walkathon
Wingham Pro-Life Group
met at the home of the
Campeaus on Oct. 1. The
results of the nation wide
walkathon for the Inter-
national Year of the Child
were discussed.
A good turnout of about
100 walkers from ages 10 and
up were present, bringing in,
pledges of about $3100.
Proceeds of the walkathon
to go to the Alliance for Life
head office in Toronto, who
research the matters of
abortions, the aged, handi-
capped and so many other
aspects of human life.
It was also moved to
donate to the Wingham
Hospital Fund, in hope of
helping keep hospital beds
open.
Funds will be used for
education programs in the
surrounding communities.

What's
ur goal
in life?
Whether or not you know what
you'd like to do with your life, there are
qualified and sensitive people who can
help in your community.
If you already have an idea about what
you want, people such as members of your local
Home and School Association, representatives
from your Chamber of Commerce, Canada Employ-
ment and Immigration counsellors, local
apprenticeship consultants or Ontario Career Action
Program Co-ordinators can help you. If you're
still Uncertain about what you'd like to do, talk to your
school guidance counsellor, or placement advisor.
These people can give you information on a wide range
of career opportunities; some you may never have thought
of before!
The final decision will always be yours, but that doesn't
mean you have to reach it all alone. There are people who
are interested in showing you how you can reach your goal
more quickly.

IT'S A BOY. . .— And it's obvious that some gremlin wanted everyone
in Brussels to know that Murray and Ruth Lowe had their baby. This sign
was hung up in Murray's barber shop where everyone would be sure to
see it. But it looks as though the Brussels Bombers won't have another
slugger to add to their team after all, unless they're thinking of having a
mixed team. Friends and neighbours can feel free to watch Murray
feeding the baby every four hours.
