Sense in Religion? - Con-

Simplicity?
There are three influences
on religion: The Ronan Law,
Greek philosophy and art and
Jesus' religion. The. Hebrews

do we do?
Jesus asked questions in
order to find the answers.
Jews lived in the centre

sident in only one God,
More and more, the
ancient Jews saw God as a
God of Law. They had 5,000
laws all negative. Laws were
so complex that five laws
could be broken while trying
to obey one.
Jesus came. He talked of
the God of Law, What is the
greatest law? First love God,
then your neighbour, as
illustrated in "The Good
Samaritan." The despised

man and paid the 'tab.' Who
is my neighbour? - "The
Man who helped" was the
unexpected answer. Beneath
the complexity of religion
neighbourliness stands out«

just lonely people.
We are Christian when we
care and respond. The fact
that people matter is the
essence of life and religion.
Our religion tends to be-
come tot complex, too com-
plicated.
The other side of the
problems is for religion to
become too simple.. This is.

will of God. The will of God is
something with which we
struggle. The message is like
a golden thread weaving
through your life. "Find your
life in God. Centre it there
and relate to God," If the
heart is right, your life is
right.
The choir anthem "Thy
Perfect Love " was very well
received, The male section of

Things of Thee Are Spoken".
The large congregation of

token of appreciation of this
