JOHN C. BREWER
John Clifford Brewer of
R.R. 4,. Wingham died on
Mon., Aug. 27 at the Wing-
ham & District hospital in his
61st year. Born in Grey
Township he was a son of the
late Duncan Brewer and
Gladys Rowland. He served
five and one half years in the
second war and was with the
R.C.R. overseas. He was
acting C.S.M. at the time of
his discharge. He had
farmed for 33 years on Con. 1
Morris Township. He was a
member of Bluevale United
Church. He is survived by his
wife the former Margaret
Vincent, also four sons Clif-
ford of Milton, Fred of
Bluevale, Gerald of R.R. I
Gorrie, Leslie of R.R. 4,
Wingham and one daughter
Mrs. Frank (Nancy) Wett-
laufer of Embro and 16
grandchildren.
Three sisters Mrs. Carl
(Dorothy) Schade, Listowel,
Mrs. Verna Penner, Chats-
worth, Mrs. Elizabeth Gower
Lucknow and two brothers,
Mel Jermyn, Bluevale and
Donald Duncan, Kitchener
also survive.
The late Mr. Brewer rest-
ed at the M.L. Watts Funeral
During the week Septem-
ber 3-9, 1979, officers at
Wingham detachment con-
ducted thirty-seven investi-
gations. Forty charges were
laid under the Highway Traf-
fic Act and twenty-one warn-
ings were issued. Five
charges were laid under the
Liquor Licence Act. One
other charge was laid under
the Criminal Code.
During the week, there
were two motor vehicle col-
lisions which caused an esti-
mated $2500.00 in property
damage and injuries to five
persons.
On Sunday, September 9,

LEO. G.J. SALM
Leo George - Joseph
Salm of Underwood formerly
of •Brussels died Monday,
September 3 in Kincardine.
He was born in Waterloo,
on June 24, 1921 son of
Joseph M. Salm and Monica
Winterhalt. He was married
to the former Shirley
Murdoch on October 8, 1971.
He was predeceased by his
former wife Ethel Neale of
Chesley.
Surviving are five sons,
four stepsons, four
daughters, five
stepdaughters, three
brothers, three sisters and
twelve grandchildren.
Funeral services were held
on Wednesday, September 5
at Linklaters Funeral Home
in Kincardine. Rev. James
Reeb officiated. Burial took
place at the Kincardine
cemetery.
R.R., Palmerston was in-
volved in a single car acci-
dent at the intersection of the
Howick-Turnberry Township
line and concession C, How-
ick Township. Mr. Shewan
received minor injuries, as
well as the following passen-
gers in his vehicle - Marilyn
R. Shewan, Sue A. Lacasse,
Wayne T. Shewan and Jason
J. Shewan.
Terry McCarthy of R.R.1,
Dublin averaging 1074 lbs.
sold for 80.25.
Eight steers consigned by

averaging 1193 lbs. sold for
81.50 with his 48 steers
averaging 1139 lbs. selling
for an overall price of 80.15.

son of Mr. and Mrs. Allan
Nichol of Brussels recently
graduated from the Business
Administration-Data Pro-
cessing Program at the Doon
Campus of Conestoga Col-
lege and now 'works for the
M.A.I. Canada Ltd. in Brant-
ford.

pigs at higher prices. Cows
sold lower. There were 1220
cattle and 2055 pigs on offer.
