MALONEY In the village, there's a lady named Pat Who walks around with a price tag on her hat. For the Brussels Bombers the high balls she pitches And there's never a gariie played without any pitches Our last game in Sebringville she came into glory We'll now proceed to tell you the story. She pitched the whole game in her top form Shultz, she was catching, yelled up a storm About covering up behind the plate "If your playing the game, make it first rate" Pam was on first, holding her own Offered advice in a lowered tone ,The first base coach was at Pat too Dusty yelled and she bellowed till her face was blue The players on second, at short and on third Gave out advice until they were heard Pat was doing great, there were strikes galore Strike outs were seldom the hits were more Our Pat's got a problem, her batting is to blame She hoped and prayed Sebringville's team was to blame The out field players nearly went out of their minds The wet grass and frogs were slippery they were falling on their behinds The team worked together and played by the book The excitement and tension high and that's all it took Poor Muzz on the bench nearly went crazy Coaching on third, his calls were hazy Sebringville's last bat, Brussels was ahead by one run Pat got our first out, "Very well done" Marlene got the second out, a very neat fly The tension was mounting, poor Muzz could cry Then came the big one, our third out The batter got up, and gave the ball a big clout. It was a very neat hit, a line drive to Pat She lifted her glove and that was that... Muzzwas up and off the bench in a shot Before the team realized what happened, a great hug Pat got. Then the rest of us knew this big game was won Pat was the heroine, but didn't know what she'd done So come out and see our next game if you will The playoffs with Brussels and Sebringville. Brussels Bombers is off and running in the play-offs. After successfully defeating Rostock in the first series of Lions BINGO Every Saturday Commencing SATURDAY, Sept. 15 1979 at 8:00 Blyth Memorial Hall 12 reg. games, 3 share the wealth. Jackpot $150.00 in 60 calls best 2 out of 3, we are now in the next set against Sebring- ville. A thrilling, and hard fought battle took place. The game started with us having first bat. When we took the field Piper Shultz was catching and Mrs. Minnie- Pat Maloney was throwing soggy balls. Annie carefully guarded centre field wearing an outrageous model hat in the latest Newfie style covering up Marie Lemons errors. While in left field Mrs. Piggy Earl raced back to catch a fly ball and slipped on Kermit, the frog, and went rolling in the wet grass as the damaged frog tried to hop away. Power House Blake didn't get much action in right field, but had a lot of exercise covering Slam Barn Pam on first. Slam Barn Pam after hitting a triple went charging around the bases on her No. 9's, missing second base') This being noticed by Sebringville's second bas e- lady who appealed to Umpire Wayne who-called Slam Barn Pam out. Scrapper Maria made a superb play in getting a fast throw to second for the out, when Fire Ball Rut tipped the ball to her. Stretch Bonnie made a valiant effort to have Ae. her foot on the base and the ball in her hand but failed by inches, Nancy Flo's bat helped move runners around the bases while Lefty Mary's sore arm kept her out of action. Mama Ruth has hung her glove up until the newest member of our team arrives in October. Gramma Lowe will not be selling popcorn next year as she will be babysitting in the bleachers. Muzz who wore the prison guard cap bent the bench while jumping up and down yelling go greens go. Dusty Elaine's mouth was in full gear while coaching first and while on the bench. On the field it sounded like Dusty and Muzz were singing a duet. An attempted repeat per- formance will be played, Wednesday September 5th at 8:30 in the Brussels Ball Park. Bye the way before I forget the score was 13-12 for Brussels.
