A donation of $100 for the
Woodstock Relief Fund was
approved at the August
meeting of the Brussels
C.W.L. on Tuesday, August
21 which was opened with
the celebration of mass dur-
ing which Father Sonderup
installed the new executive.
The president, Mrs. Irene
Blake presided for business
and after the reports were
given and correspondence
read, several discussions
took place. The meeting
agreed to urge the Parish
council to do as it had done
and give a $100.00 donation
to the Woodstock Relief
The Huron County
Federation of Agriculture at
their Regional Meetings on
Sept. 6, at the Huron Cen-
tennial School, Brucefield
and the East Wawanosh
School at Belgrave are
having informed speakers on
the recently announced Pro-
vincial Equalizations
Factors. These new factors
may have a desvastating
effect on the 1980 tax bills of
farmers in any one of the
Townships in Huron County,
with the exception of Hay.

were three motor vehicle
collisions which caused an

MRS. THOS. A. GRASBY
A former resident of
Morris Township, Mrs. Mary
L Grasby, widow of the late
Thos. A. Grasby, died in
Huronview, Clinton, on.
Wednesday, August 22,
1979, in her 93rd year. Mrs.
Grasby, the former Mary
Isabel Nesbit, came to
Canada from Yorkshire,
England in 1923. Her
husband predeceased her in
1960. She was also pre-
deceased by 4 brothers and 3
sisters.
She is survived by her
sisters-in-law, Mrs. Annie
McNichol and Mrs. Margaret
Nesbit both of Blyth, and
several neices and nephews.
Mrs. Grasby rested at the
Tasker Funeral Home, where
the service was held on
Saturday August 25, 1979.
The Rev. James Broadfoot of
St. Pauls Anglican Church,
Clinton. officiated, assisted
by Rev. C. L. Wittich of
Blyth United Church. Inter-
ment was at Brandon
Cemetery, Belgrave.
The Pallbearers were all
nephews; David Nesbit,
Lawrence Nesbit, John A.
Nesbit, Harvey Bradshaw,
Ken Johnston, and Gordon
Nicholson. Flower bearers
were Robert Nesbit and
Audrey McNichol.
GERTRUDE ADELE SAUVE
Gertrude Adele Sauve
(Grandma), 91 of Brussels
died suddenly as the result of
a car accident on. Tuesday,
August 21.
She was born in West-
meath on July 28, 1888. In
1909 she married Edward
Sauve in Ottawa. The Sauves
later moved to Massey where
they lived for 40 years. Mrs.
Sauve was pre-deceased by
her husband in 1971.
Mrs. Sauve lived with her
daughter-in-law Ruth and
son Clayton in Sudbury
before the family moved to
Brussels in 1974. She
became a resident of the
Callander Nursing Home in
Brussels in 1978.
Surviving are two sons,
Archie in Walford Station
and Clayton in Brussels, five
grandchildren, Glen Sauve of
Saskatoon, Dale Sauve of
Lambton, John Sauve of
Sudbury, Sandra Cowan of
Blyth and Beth Crawford of
Atwood.
Funeral Services were held
at Massey United Church on
Saturday, August 25 with
Rev. Hope Jackson of-
ficiating. Burial took place in
the Massey Protestant
Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Dale
Sauve, Bob McGaulley, John
Lees, Donald Lees, Mel
Sawyer and Bob Brandon.
