about the extension coming out of village
taxes, Reeve Kreuter told Mr. Hahn that the
road has to be brought up to MTC standards
befdre the village can take it over and get
some gralts for it.
Council decided to keep the petition along
with the first one until the chairman of both
petitions can attend a council meeting /and
until councillor Gord Workman comes back.
Council passed a by-law to enter into an
agreement with the County of Huron on the
senior citizens° apartment building in
Brussels.
In correspondence, council had received
a letter from J.L. McCutcheon regarding the
vadalism in Brussels and council's failure to
do something about the problem. He cited

problems at his own place of business and
• said he twould' not pay the next instalment
of his business tax if something wasn't done
abOut the problem. Council discussed his
complaint noting that if people won't get ,
involved there's nothing the police can do
and that to hire extra police protection would
be expensive and increase taxes. But they • I decided to have Sargent Roy Anderson of the . Wingham OPP at the next council meeting
on August 7 to discuss the vandalism
problem.
Council also decided that the Brussels Inn
parking lot didn't need sanitary service as
long as that building remained a hotel and
that the Oldfield parking lot should be
serviced with sanitary sewers.

Your health
Aspirin, originally devel-
oped expressly for treating
rheumatoid arthritis, is
largely misunderstood, says
The Arthritis Society. This is
due, in large part, because of
the availability of this medi-
cine. Taken in therapeutic
quantities prescribed by a
doctor it is one of the most
effective means of controll=
ing arthritis.
* * * * * *
Will moving to a "better"
climate cure arthritis? The
answer according to The
Arthritis Society is no. The
patient may feel a bit better,
but usually the course of the
disease is not affected.
* * * * *
Gout is no joke. It hurts.
But The Arthritis Society
reports that gout can now be
completely controlled with
medication. The Arthritis
Society is working to control
other types of arthritis as
well.
*
Since its beginning, 30
years ago, The Arthritis Soci-
ety has seen the average stay
in hospital for arthritis
patients reduced from 180
days to just 18.

Hills and passes, through the softer country
to Carlisle , to the Sark Bridge where we
crossed into Scotland. We visited Gretna
Green and the old blacksmith shop, famous
so long for runaway marriages. Each tour
group has a mock wedding performed and is
posed for a marriage picture complete with
bride, groom, attendants, father and mother
.of the bride, and wedding guests. My
companion Peggy, became the bride with a
French Canadian groom from Montreal. All
a lot of good fun and our tour group loosened
up and fast became a happy friendly buneli.
We arrived in Dumfries in time for dinnei- -
and an appreciated overnight rest. Everyday
our coach stopped mid-morning, noon and
mid-afternoon for a snack and a trip to what
our courier called the International Building
(washrooms) which he was considerate
enough to point out to us.
