People We Know
Bombers off and running
win? Flo and. Pat hope they
can keep up with them.
FIRST BASE
Last but not least,'we have
a new coach on first base -
"Dusty." And boy is she
tough. She eats Wheaties for
breakfast. When she says go,
you go or feel the end of the
whip she has. She makes us
practice at least 10 minutes
before each game, and go
home early after each game.
Muz has signed her to a 10
year contract at $150,000 a
year.
So, this is the line-up for
this year's players. You must
admit it sounds unbelievable
and the way we play, it
probably is, but we do have
fun. So come out and support
your ball team - any team.
They appreciate it!

Hello all you faithful
Bomber fans, Well, it's
another season for Slow-
Pitch, and the Bombers are
off to a good start. We won
two, lost one,
At our first practice out,
we had no coach but good old
Mus couldn't stand it when
he saw us out there all by
ourselves, so he's back as he
says, with his girls. He
knows a good thing - 13
women - good money. He has
firm control over us.
So, we were unable to go
to Florida for our usual
spring training. He took his
wife to the Barbados instead.
And we offered to pay for the
gas for his car even.
Well we had a fast two
hours practice before we
came .,n against our ever
favorite team - Sebringville
who we let win, 13-10. Bo:
we made them work for that!
Just because Muz has rela-
tives on the team, we had to
let them win, so they wouldnt
get mad at him. But next
time .
This year, fans, you'll see
some new faces, and of
course the old ones out there.
We have spared no expense
to bring to Brussels from that
big town of Winthrop, Marie
"Speedie" Leonhardt who
swats the mosquitoes and
talks to herself. She keeps
B.P. Annie, our roving rover
awake. Annie roves from left
field to second base. Most of
the time we think she's
practising her disco dancing.
In right field, directly from
the country, we have Stretch
Earl who pulled the muscles
in both legs just to get out of
cleaning the pig pens at
home. She provides the jokes
and sings to Annie's disco.
Also imported is "Lefty"
Bradshaw who catches left
hand, drops the glove and
throws in left. She thinks
she's still in England playing
cricket. She carries the bat to
first base, hands it to the first
base man, and says, "thanks
old chap." As Muz says, we
have all kinds on our team.
Out in left field we have
Nell Powerhouse Blake back
for another season. She
missed all the fun, so came
back.
On third base is Marlene
"Fireball" Rut. She hasn't
lost any of her strength in her
right arm. If only she could
learn to run, without tripping
over her feet. Brian says her
feet are too big, that's her
problem. Then there's Maria
"Scrapper" Van Kealen,
short stop. We send her in if
there's an argument. She's
small, but she's mighty.
On second, there's B.B.
Bonnie. We're thinking of
changing her name to
"Dancer" because of her
problem she gets half-way
through the game, and the
fancy foot work she does out
there. On first, we now have
Slam Barn Pam an import
from. Walton. She's got her-
self a big basket for some of
those wild catches coming in.
She's also considering wear-
ing a face mask for those
close throws to her.
Our catcher now is "Lefty
Shultz" Pipe. She thinks
she's still on first base.
Every time the pitcher
throws the ball, she runs out
in front of the batter to catch
the ball and tag her out. Muz
has warned her, "Let the
batter hit it first."
Our relief catcher is Ruth,
"momma-to-be" Lowe - one
reason we can't pick on her.
We have to cater to her every
wish. She'll drive us crazy.
Then we have another pitch-
er, Flo Maxwell. She's so
relaxed, half the time we
think she's dreaming about
that Barry guy - and the big
event coming up. So we give
her every other inning off to
bring her back to earth and
mini-Pat goes in, and there's
not much I can say wrong
with her.
So, with two pitchers like
this how can the team not
