(Photo by Lang lois) New members join Brussels United Mrs. Olive Snell of Caledon East and Miss Mildred Henning of Wingham, visited on Friday evening with Mr. and Mrs. George Fischer and on Saturday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Joe Walker. Timmy and Kenneth MacTavish of Wingham spent the weekend with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Alex MacTavish. Call (519) 357-4444 On Sunday, June 3, at Brussels United Church, 144 new hymn books were dedicated by Roy Cousins in memory of Elma Lawrie Cousins, by the family and friends of the community. Rev. Eric Le Drew accepted them on behalf of the congregation. The Sr. choir then sang "Holy, Holy, Holy" with Mrs. Emily Cousins singing the descant. The Intermediate choir sang 2 selections; '.'Spirit of The Loving God" and "In The Days of Youth", directed by Mrs. Sheila Richards, and accompanied by the organist Mrs. Judy Morton. The hymn "Holy Spirit Hear Us" was sung by everyone, and the young children came forward, then Rev. Le Drew told them a short story and they retired to their class. Following Rev. Le Drew's message "Importance of Confirmation", nine young people were received as new members. They were Stewart Albert Cardiff, David Alvin Cossitt, Troy Douglas Hamilton, Kevin John Kellington, Joanne. Grace Miller, Mariann Scott, Darwin Earl Watts, Brian Robert Wheeler, and Kevin George Wheeler. The Sacra- ment of Holy Communion was then received. On Monday afternoon the Evening Unit of the U.C.W. Is presented their annual entertainment of singing, readings, pianoand vocal solos, and square. , dancing for ,the residents of Huroniiew, Clinton. The group also attended the Brussels Nursing Home in the evening to entertain. On Friday, June 8, the Intermediate Choir held a Family and Friends' Night. The 20 young people sang many lovely songs with Mrs. Sheila Richards as their leader, and Mrs. Larke McDonald accompanied at the piano. Mr. Wendell Richards played his drums for background music as the Correspondent MRS. JOE WALKER 357-3558 Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Golley were pleasantly surprised on. Sunday when invited out to dinner by their four sons, David, Dewayne, Dean and Damion. Following a visit to see Mr. Robert Golley at the Nursing Home they were greeted at the Bluevale Park by about 6Q relatives and friends to help them celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary which is June 12. The after- noon was spent visiting, then everyone went to the Sunday school room of Knox Presbyterian Church for a delicious smorgasbord supper. Norma and Glenn received many lovely gifts for which they thanked everyone. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Henning, Jim and Gordon Wright visited with Mrs. Jim Wright in Victoria Hospital, London on Sunday.
