Opening celebration 10% DISCOUNT Brussels Cadets officially became a Corps on Tuesday May 1 when the area cadet inspector and the area cadet officer from London approved them. The Brussels Legion is sponsoring the Corps and will assist with funds and space to parade among other things. On this sponsoring committee are chairman Al Nichol, Glen Bridge, Ted Elliott and John Sims. Rosemarie Vandenberg is now the corn- _ manding officer of the corps and Kang Yoon, Carl Graber and Elaine Nichol are civilian instructors who will be applying for Officer status. In order to get this they will take training courses, The men who approved the Brussels cadets on Tuesday night were Lt. Elreckle- manh ; area cadet officer and Warrant officer Rafters, area 'Cadet inspector who will visit Brussels every six weeks or so to check on the progress of the Brussels group. On Tuesday night the inspecting officers checked the corp to see that it met parade qualifications and other cadet requirements as well as inspecting the cadet quarters. They gave their approval and according to C.O. Vandenberg, "the cadets were really thrilled about it.” Interest in joining the Brussels Cadet Corps also seems to be growing. When first started there were about 18 or 20 cadets. Now that number has increased to 44 and CO. Vandenberg said they're shooting for 50 very shortly. Most of the cadets come from the Brussels, Blyth and Belgrave areas, The Cadets are also going to be involved in interesting subjects with Carl. Graber and Kang Yoon joining them.
