The Brussels Peewees
were at home to Teeswater
on Monday night in the first
game of the best of three
final championship series.
The boys won the first game
of the series 6-3. Doug Shaw
scored the hat-trick for Brus-
sels with Tim Fritz getting 2
goals and Rob Cardiff 1.
Assists went tc DeanRutledge
Darrin Watts, Kevin
McArter, Doug Shaw, Tim
Fritz and Paul Machan.
The Peewees then return-
ed to Teeswater on Wednes-
day night for the second
game. The game ended with
a 6-4 score in favour of
Brussels. This gave the.
Brussels Peewees the' series
and the "D" championships.
The W,O.A.A. was present
to present the team with the
championship trophy.
Leading the attack for the
Brussels team was Darrin
Watts with four goals. Kevin
McArter and Paul Machan
scored one goal. each.
Assists went to Doug Shaw,
Rob Cardiff, Darrin Watts
Kevin McArter, David
Cossitt. Other players
involved on the team were
Brad Black, Kevin Johnston,
Dean Rutledge, Tim Fritz,
Rich Knight Wayne
McCutcheon and Gary Arm-
strong. Coaches were
Murray Lowe and Allan
Nichol. Congratulations on a
great win boys!
ATOMS WIN W.O.A.A.
CHAMPIONSHIP
After winning the first two
games of their series, the
Brussels Atoms travelled to
Teeswater on Tuesday night
for the "third game of their
best of five series. The local
boys defeated Teeswater 5-3
to win the championship
three games straight.
David Wheeler scored 2
goals, and Dean Wheeler,
Wayne Wheeler, Shawn
Bremner, one goal each.
Assists went to Robbie
Zimmer, Paul Tolton, David
Wheeler and Shawn Brem-
ner.
The Atoms also partici-
pated in the annual Mildmay
Atom Tournament the last
weekend in March. In their
first game on Friday night,
they played Flesherton
whom they defeated 4-0,
Scoring for Brusselsjwere
David Wheeler with 2 goals,
Wayne Wheeler and Dean
Wheeler 1 each. Assists went
to Sean Kuffer, Marty Rut-
ledge, Paul Tolton and Dean
Wheeler.
They played their second
game on Saturday against
Elma-Logan in a good game
of hockey and came up with a
2-1 victory. Dean Wheeler
scored both goals for Brus-
sels with assists by Sean
Kuffer and David Wheeler.
They returned to Mildmay
on Sunday to play their third
game of the tournament
against Teeswater. They

tachment conducted 32
investigations.
Eleven charges were laid
under the highway traffic act
and seven warnings were
,issued.
Three charges were laid
under the liquor licence act.
Six charges were laid
under the criminal code.
During the week, there
were ten motor vehicle col-
lisions which caused an
estimated $18,200.00 in pro-
perty damage and injuries to
seven persons.
On Thursday, April 5,
Marjorie P. McKenzie of
Mildmay was driving on
Highway #4, South of the W.
Jct. Huron-
Bruce county boundary,
Turnberry Township when
her vehicle slid. on the icy
road, entered the east ditch
and stuck a tree. The driver
and passengers in her
vehicle received minor in-
juries. They were Catherine
M. McKenzie, Robert J.
McKenzie, Both of Mildmay;
Allan Fischer of Formosa;
Anne. and Terrance Schwehr,
Both of Mildmay.
On Sunday, April 8,
Dennis R. Siddal of Dutton,
was involved in a single car
accident on #25 county road,
west, of sideroad 33-34, East
came through once more and
scored a 6-1 victory over
Teeswater. Scoring for Brus-
sels were Sean Kuffer with 2
goals, Marty Rutledge 2, and
Shawn Bremner and Dean
Wheeler with 1 goal each.
Assists went to David
Wheeler, Paul Tolton and
Sean Kuffer.
This win put Brussels into
the championship game for
the tournament to defend the
trophy for the fifth straight
year. In a good game of
hockey the Brussels boys just
couldn't overpower the team
from Thorton, The final score
was Thorton 3, Brussels 1.
Brussels' only goal was
scored by Marty Rutledge
unassisted. Better luck next
year boys in the tournament.

W.O.A.A. "D" Champion-
ship.
Wawanosh Township. His
vehicle entered the north
ditch, and into a field.
Injured as a result of the
collision was Alice I. Siddall,
also of Dutton.
