The oppos ition was provided by Lang- ' ton. With only 1 penalty as- sessed to each team, the boys played a good gaine of hockey. They defeated Lang- ton 3-2 to win the "D" Consolation Championship of the tournament. Scoring for Brussels was Todd Wheeler with two goals and Kevin Bishop with one goal. Assists went to Steve Knight, Kevin Wheeler, Todd Wheeler, and Kevin Bishop. Honourable mention goes to Neil Mitchell who played goal for the game. Other players were Kevin Kellington, Peter Ben- nett, Stewart Cardiff, Kevin Deitner, Doug McArter, Bruce and Robbie Bones- cha.nsker, Brian Wheeler, John Anstett and Kevin Leis. Coaches are Dale Machan and Mel McArter. The Midgets who are currently playing a best of seven series with Paisley travelled to Paisley on Wed. night where they were de- feated 6-2. Scoring for Brus- sels were Paul Johnston and Mike Watson. Assists went to Todd Wheeler, Paul Bragg and Andy Westberg. The same two teams re- turned to Brussels for a game on Sunday night. The Brus- sels team was facing elimin- ation, put talents to good use and came up with a 6-3 win. Scoring for Brussels were Ken Cousins with 2 goals and Brian Temps, Neil Elliott, Mike Watson and Paul John- ston with one each. Assists went to Ken Higgins, Gary McCutcheon, Darryl. Young- blut, Brian Tenpas, Ken Cousins. ' The Peewees returned to Goderich on Wednesday to play their second game in the Young Canada Peewee Tour- nament. They played a team from Ilderton in an exciting game of hockey. The game was tied 3-3 at the end of regulation time. They played two-five minute over-time periods when Ilderton scored with 42 seconds remaining. Scoring for Brussels were In the 'Brussels Mixed Bowling League on Tuesday, March 20, top performance was given by Dennis Newby with his 337 high single and highest high triple of the year of 810. He also had two other high singles of 240 and 233. In second spot was John Rae with a high single of 313 ' and a high triple of 657. In this category was Jim Adams with a high triple of 664. High Ladies for the night was Carolynn Whitfield with a high single of 244 and a high triple of 581, and Wilda Higgins with high singles of 242 and 203, and Wilda also high with a high triple of 589. Other good strong triples were played by Tom Stevens with 640, Ray Adams 610, Robbie Cardiff, Doug Shaw and Darrin Watts. Assists went to Kevin McArter and Darrin Watts. NOVICE WIN W.O.A.A, TROPHY The Novice team travel- led td Mitchell on Saturday afternoon' to play their first game in their best of 3 series. They came home with a 7-0 victory. The Mitchell team re- turned to Brussels on Sunday night for the second game. Brussels scored a 5.0 victory to capture the Group 2 Championship. Joyce Mc- Clure was on hand to present them with their W.O.A.A. Championship trophy and crests. Scoring for Brussels and Fred Sawyer 665. More high singles over 200 were bowled by Tom Stevens 263 and 228, Carson Watson 247, Ray Adams 240, Jim Adams 233, 225 and 206, Danny Keifer 230, Kathy Smith 222, Doug Henderson 221, Peter Jackson 220, Joe Adams 217, Jane Draper 212; Fred Sawyer 207 and 201 and Isabel Sims 207. They travelled to Blyth on Monday night for their first game of the series and scored a 7-1 victory. Scoring for Brussels were: Dean Wheeler with 3 goals, Marty Rutledge 2 goals, and David Wheeler, 2 goals. Assists went to Sean Kieffer, Wayne Wheeler and David Wheeler. Blyth returned to Brussels on. Wednesday night for the second game and were de- feated 3-1.
