Missing logs
presumed
stolen
Logs were missing from a bush owned
by Ian McDonald of Brussels when Carl
Miners went there to resume his tree cutting
work on Wenesday morning.
The bush is located between the sixth and
fourth concessions of Grey Township on the
Ethel cemetery, sideroad. Mr. Miners
checked to see if the snow had gone down
enough for him to resume cuttin& when he
noticed some logs were missing and
footprints leading into the place where the
logs had been. He alerted Mr. McDonald.
The logs were an approximate 10 or 12
feet in size and would have had to be cut up
to be carried au., Mr.*McDonald said. He
thinks at least three or more logs were taken.

The old Fina station in
Brussels is back in action
again but this time is
operating as a Sunoco service
station with Jack Hall of
Brussels as the new owner.
Mr. Hall opened the
station to sell gas last
Wednesday morning and
opened if for other business
on Thursday As well as selling
gas, the station will provide
oil and grease jobs, a bit of
muffler work and a car wash.
Mr. Hall who previously
worked as a carpenter with
Al Nichol of Brussels said he
had just taken a notion to buy
the 'service station. At the
moment he has plans for'
repainting it.
, Although Mr. Hall is
operating the station by
himself right now, he hopes
to receive assistance from his
oldest boy David in the
summer.
The Fina Station has been
vacant for about four or five
years and Mr. Hall bought it
from Montreal Trust. Ted
McLean was the previous
operator of the station.
