The World Day of Pra> er
Service was held at the home
of Mrs. Gordon Engel with
17 attending. The printed
order of service was used
with Mrs. Clare Veitch the
leader. Scripture readings
and prayers were given by
Mrs. Stuart McNair, Mrs.
Jack Knight. Mrs. Jack, Cox,
and Mrs. Stanley Fischer.
Mrs. Wilfred Strickler used
Luke 4: 18-19 as a basis for
conversation on Jesus. Christ
and his mission.
Assisting in this skit were
Mrs. Jack Conley. Mrs. John
Vanass, Mrs. Earl Dunn and
Mrs. Mac Engel, Mrs.
Gordon Engel gave a
meditation on faith, hope and
love based on Hebrews 11,
Mrs. Leslie Knight was ac-
companist for the Hymns
"Kum Ba Y; ", "Where
cross the crowded ways of
life", "Lord speak to me"
Brussels Friendship Club
met February 28 with a good
attendance. Verna Thomas,
president was in the chiar
and Lula Kerr at the piano.
Gertie Bolger, secretary
read the minutes of previous
meeting. The treasurer's re-
port was given by Laura
Lucus. A letter was read
from Vanastra Recreation
Centre, also a thank you card
rom Bill Grashy who has
)een a patient in the hospital.
There will be another bus
trip this summer to Scott's
Oquaga Lake House, New
and "0 god of Bethel".
The business for the
regular march meeting of the
W.M.S. was conducted by
the president, Mrs. Stuart
Stevenson, The minutes
were read by Mrs. Jack
Knight. An invitation was
read from Walton to a special
meeting on Sunday evening,
April 8 at 8 o'clock Mrs. Mac
Thomson, Listowel, is the
Presbyterial visitor and date
of her visit is to be decided
later. The spring executive
meeting is on March 13 at
1:30 p.m. in St. Andrews
Church, Stratford.
Mrs. Stevenson, Mrs. Jack
Knight and Mrs. Gordon
Engel were named as a
committee to meet with the
board of managers regarding
church renovations being
made. The group is catering
to the Forester's banquet on
March 15 at 7 o'clock Mrs.
Jack Knight and Mrs. Leslie
Knight assisted the hostess
York, sponsored by All Star
Tours Ltd. The guest
speaker, Mrs. Marrit, spoke
and showed slides on the
rural development outreach
project.
Next meeting to be held
March 21.
The meeting closed fol-
lowed by a few games of
euchre. Prizes as follows:

Mrs. Clem Staffer was
admitted to the Wingham
Hospital on Monday, Feb. 26
and underwent surgery on
Wednesday. We wish her a
speedy recovery.
