The Brussels volunteer fire
department answered a call
to a chimney fire at the home
of Malcolm. Jacobs
Wednesday night.
Deputy fire chief Gordon
Stephenson said the stove
pipes had taken fire and then
the chimney started on fire.
The fire department used dry
chemical to put out the fire
and then used a smoke
ejector to take all the smoke
out of the house.
Mr. Stephenson said the
upstairs was pretty smokey
and that there was a little bit
of smoke damage.
There's going to be all
kinds of chimney fires with
more people using wood
stoves, Mr, Stephenson said.
