Weather cancels Church in Cranbrook

The regular morning ser-
vice and Sunday School were
cancelled on Sunday because
of weather conditions.
The Annual meeting of the
Ladies' Aid of Knox Church
was held on Wednesday
ISABEL McDONALD
Isabel Maude McDonald,
93 of Brussels died Saturday,
January 13 at the Wingham
and District Hospital.
The former Isabel Maude
Bartley, she was married to
Archibald Livingstone
McDonald who predeceased
her. She was also pre-
deceased by two brothers
Ralph and Stanley.
Surviving are a daughter
Doris McDonald and a son
Ian McDonald both of Brus-
sels, two sisters, Nettie
Bartley of Toronto, and
Alberta, Mrs. Tom Schnell of
Saginaw, Michigan and a
brother H.G. (Bill) Bartley of
Wingham. Also surviving are
three grandchildren and one
great-grandchild.
The body rested at the
Currie Funeral Home in
Wingham where a private
family service was held on
Monday. Burial followed in
the Brussels cemetery.
MACK WILLIAM
SHOLDICE
Mack William Sholdice, of
Walton, died suddenly in the
Seaforth Community
Hospital on Tuesday, Jan. 9,
1979 in his 44th year.
He is survived by his wife,
the former Dorothy Keys, a
son Murray, a daughter
Sandra, both at home, and a
sister, Elva, Mrs. Ian Wilbee
of Walton.
He was a member of the
session of the Walton United
Church and chairman of the
Walton Area Sports Club.
The funeral service was
held on Friday, Jan. 12, 1979
from the M. L. Watts
Funeral H'o'me, Brussels.
Rev. Ed. Baker, Walton and
afternoon January 10th at the
home of Mrs. Stuart McNair.
Fifteen ladies braved the
blustery weather to attend.
Mrs. Leslie Knight used a
new year's reading to open
the meeting. The Hymn
"Standing at the portal" was
sung. The topic "Self Dis-
cipline" was given by Mrs.
Rev. D. Docker of Dorchester
were in charge of the service.
Temporary entombment
followed at the Brussels
Cemetery Chapel.
Pallbearers were Neil
McGavin, Doug Kirkby, Don
Nolan, Dave Collins, Howard
Hackwell and Jack
Nelemans.
Flower Bearers were
Murray Smith and Jerry
Ryan.
WILLIAM ALEXANDER
STEVENSON
William Alexander
Stevenson of the 14th con-
cession of Grey Township
died in Lady Isabelle Nursing
Home, Trout Creek, Ont, on
January 10th, 1979.
Born in Grey Township,
son of the late John and
Mary Stevenson, he was 91
years of age.
He received his early
education in Grey and
Brussels. lie had been a
High School Teacher in
Northern Ontario and also
farmed there and in East
Wawanosh. He had been
living with his niece, Mrs.
Glen (Mary) Nichol of Hunts-
ville.
He was predeceased by
one sister, Mrs.. Richard
(Margaret) Carter and three
brothers, Baxter, James and
John, all of Grey Township.
Funeral service was held
at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January
13th, from the M.L. Watts
Funeral Home, Brussels,
conducted by Len Fex.
Temporary entombment in
Brussels Cemetery Chapel.
Pallbearers were Donald
Perrie, John A Perrie, Tom
Garniss, George Gibson,
Donald Clark, Ronald
Gordon.
Knight with, many good
thoughts to practice in the
coming year.

Mrs. Stewart Steiss, pre
sident of the Ladies' Aid
conducted the business.
Minutes were read by Mrs.
Stuart Stevenson and the
treasurer's report given by
Mrs. Geo. Smith.
Correspondence was read
and the Dock project was left
for discussion at the Annual
Congregational meeting. The
church cleaning list was re-
vised.
Roll Call was answered by
presenting used postage
stamps and greeting cards. A
garage sale was discussed
and a committee was ap-
pointed to organize it with a
date to be decide later.
It was decided to give $50
towards the Sunday School
supplies.
