Last year’s division winning coaches, Roa Bogart of Exeter, and Brian Abbey of Belmont, will coach the teams representing the two groupings. Bogart asked each of the five northern teams to provide four players for the contest, one defenceman and three forwards. Mitchell will provide the goaltenders based on their leading goals against record this season. Representing the Exeter Hawks in the contest which gets underway at 8:00 p.m. are Ken Pinder, Jamie Caldwell, Don McKeller and Dave Kinsman. The Lucan Irish will provide Cec Nickles, Rick Freeman, Paul Medd and Jeff Hartman. Other northern group teams sending players are Seaforth, Mitchell and Tavistock. The southern group will be made up of players from Belmont, Thamesford, Port Stanley, Bothwell and Mt. Brydges. Jets beaten by Chatham A slow start by the Lucan- Ilderton Jets and a costly major penalty were mainly responsible for Friday’s 6-3 loss to the Chatham King Grain Maroons in OHA Continental senior league play. The final game of 1978 for the Jets will be Friday night of this week when they meet the Preston Jesters at the Ilderton arena. Game time is 8.15 p.m. They start the new year Wednesday night, January 3 in Chatham against the Maroons. In Friday’s game Chatham scored three goals in less that three minutes near the midway mark of the first period and the “ball game” was over. The goal getters were Gary Brown, Chuck Bosynac and Jim Pearson. Further problems were added to the Jets situation ’ arrived at 18.58 when Ian McTavish was sent to the penalty box for five minutes for high sticking. While McTavish was absent from the lineup, Dave Easton scored for Chatham at 1.26 of the second period and Terry Jackson upped the score to 5-0 only 12 seconds later. The Jets hit the scoreboard for the first time at 11.15 of the second period when Brian Murphy was suc cessful on a power play attempt. Gaining assists were Randy Kraul and goalie Lome Daer. With only a minute left in the middle frame, Dave Revington converted a pass from Brian Murphy while a Chatham player was resting in the penalty box. In the third period Rick Stickney tallied for Chatham and Randy Kraul replied for the home club on a play started by Gary Herr and Brian Murphy. Midgets get one point in tourney Exeter’s midget ”B” squad gained a tie in their first two games in the Strathroy minor Olympics this week. They opened play on Saturday and suffered a 3-2 loss to Strathroy as the home squad scored late in the third to cap the win. Greg Prout and Rob Smith scored for the locals, with Pete Tuckey providing one assist. Tuesday morning, Exeter salvaged a 4-4 tie with Dresden when Rob Smith scored late in the third period after the team had blown an early 2-0 lead. Bruce Shaw, Al Gaiser and Greg Prout notched the other Exeter tallies. Gaiser and Prout were also credited with assists as were Pete Tuckey, Bill Ren- ning and Kevin Parsons. Unlike other leading carpet cleaners which have 1 or 2 or 3 spray jets, STEAMEX has no fewer than six heavy- duty forged brass spray jets that blast dirt loose for fast professional cleaning. One of the leading carpet cleaners maintains that its unit will clean approximately 135 sq. ft. per hour. The STEAMEX cleans ap proximately 400 sq. ft. per hour - three times as fast. Furthermore, other cleaners have 3 and 5 gallon supply tanks. The STEAMEX has a big 7 gallon tank so you change the water less and save time and effort. And here's something very important: with the STEAMEX unit, you only have to add 1 ounce of Steamex solution per gallon. One of the other leading carpet cleaners ad vises you to use two ounces of their solution. It all adds up. STEAMEX cleans more efficiently in less time, and because it uses less solution per gallon it keeps your costs down. tthmkx 300 e®nUMNCX nju spoTiv Peerless Washerless 4" Centre Set Model 8620 Because it’s a Peerless washerless lavatory faucet with just one moving part, it’ll last longer.
