Elimville Wl mark season donate to fair and children ex- old the By KATHY COOPER ELIMVILLE The Elimville Women’s Institute held their Christ­ mas meeting recently at the hall. President Mrs. Murray Coward 'opened the meeting with a poem “Others”. The Opening Ode and Mary 'Stewart collect followed. The roll call was an change of one dozen fashioned cookies and recipe. Donations were made to the Exeter Fair Board, the Children’s War Memorial and also Elimville United Church for the use of it for several meetings. Mrs. Wm. Routly gave the Hospital Auxiliary report and Mrs. Coward gave the district annual report. Mrs. Judson Dykeman gave the report from the convention. Happy Birthday was sung to several members. Needlepoint will be the short course for the winter months. The leaders will be Mrs. Ed Johns and Mrs. Dale Skinner. All members were reminded that the January meeting will be in the form of a bowling party for the |f 120 Sanders St. W. The adult class presented three plays “The Misunderstanding,” Baby” and Unannounced” The Primary class presented “Twas the Night Before Christmas.” The kindergarten and primary classes sang a couple of songs. Tracey Coward read a poem. A couple of members from each class presented the “Nativity Scene.” The choir sang “Silver Bells” and “Winter Wonderland”. The Young People’s and- the intermediate II classes presented the “Christmas Doll.” The moment arrived when the jolly Santa Claus came. He presented the children with a bag of candy. The Messengers held their Christmas party December 18. The motto, prayer, and roll call was answered by all present. The members en­ joyed a story and a filmstrip. They also enjoyed making snowmen for the craft. A lunch of cookies and punch was served. family, January 21st at 2.00 p.m, The February meeting will be a dessert meeting, February 14 at 1.30 p.m. The Tweedsmuir com­ mittee were in charge of the rest of the meeting with the theme “What is Christmas all about.’’ Mrs. Ruth Skinner read a poem on Carols and Candles. Mrs. Ina Skinner read an article on Christmas Tres. Everyone joined in singing “Silent Night, Holy Night.” Mrs. Wm Routly read the Christmas Story from the Bible. Mrs. Marjorie Herd- man commented on the motto .“A Christmas Message.” Mrs. Floyd Cooper read an article “The Windows of Gold.” Mrs. Freeman Horne en­ tertained with a musical number. Miss Skinner read an enjoyable reading “Where has the Spirit of Christmas Gone.’-’ Mrs. Ward Hern read “Remember Old Time Santa Claus. Everyone joined in singing “Jingle Bells.” Miss Skinner read an article on-a short course held a number of years ago. She also had a picture of those who participated in the course. She also read an article “Christmas Draws Near.” December 14, the Elim­ ville Christmas concert was held.
