Clandeboye women aid
recent victims of blaze
CLANDEBOYE
The Clandeboye Women’s
Institute held their
December meeting at the
home of Mrs. Gerald Lynn,
Seventeen members an
swered the roll call, “Sing,
Say, or Pay,” with Christ
mas stories poems and
greetings.
During the business,
donations were made to War
Memorial Children’s
Hospital and to the Nippa
family who were recent fire
victims. Group I was in
charge of the Christmas
program. Readings by Edie
Worthington, Marion
Hodgson and a game by
Velma Hardy, was followed
by carol singing ac
companied by Ruth Hill at
the piano.
Gifts for the Cancer
Cupboard were donated and
a gift exchange among the
members was followed by a
lovely lunch served by the
hostess and lunch com
mittee, Beth Neil, Gladys
Cunningham, June Henry
and Ethel Donaldson.

St. James Anglican church
held their nine lesson carol
service Sunday. Reading the

Brisk winds blow at night.
Evergreens are brightly
decorated
Reindeer carry
around all night.

Bob Hodgins, Mrs. Joe
Cunningham, Mrs. Clarence
Carter, Dave Goddard, Jim
Cunningham and Rev.
Hofland.
Each scripture lesson was
followed by a Christmas
carol associated with the
passage. Mrs. Alan Hill
presided at the organ.
Flowers in the church- were
given in memory of Mrs.
Pearl Cobleigh and Mrs.
Connie Kilmer.
Christmas Sunday at
Clandeboye United Church
will be at its usual time, 9.45
a.m. Immediately following
the service, the Sunday
School Program will be
presented. Flowers in the
church for the Christmas
season were placed in
memory of the late Mrs.
Connie Kilmer.

and family and Mr. and Mrs.
Gerald Lynn and family
attended the Lynn family
Christmas, held at the home
of Tom Brock at Zion on
Sunday.
Mrs. Rupert Williams
entertained her cousins
Laurea McDonald of
Wheatley and Olive Kirk of
Detroit, also her sisters,
Dorothy Joyce of Windsor
and Marilyn Lee of Brinsley
for lunch on Wednesday.
Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Lynn
and family entertained Mrs.
Lynn’s Scottish adopted
family, on Saturday.
Attending were Mr. and Mrs.
Charles David, Mr. and Mrs.
Charles Toth, Mr. Scott
David and friend, Kim, all of
Guelph; Mr. and Mrs. Doug
Reid of Kitchener; Mr. and
Mrs. W.S. Chalmers, Mr.
and Mrs. Alex Car roll, Gavin
and Vicki, Mrs. Sadie
Carroll, Mrs. Madge Bailey,
Mr. and Mrs. Ronald
Ireland, Ronnie and Robbie,
all of London.
Due to the deadline
news there will be
Christmas visitors in
Clandeboye news next week
and the Times Advocate
refuses to accept them along
with the numerous New
Years visitors in the
following issue, due to
shortage of space.
