Deane & Laughton Solicitors for the Executrix Exeter, Ontario 48:49:50c Exeter pick standing committees Exeter council named one new standing committee at their inaugural meeting this week. It will deal with in dustrial promotion. Mayor Derry Boyle will chair the new committee and will be joined by in coming Councillors Marilyn Williamson and Jay Campbell. The latter pair cited the need for more industrial growth in their election campaigns. Campbell questioned the advisability of having only council members on the new committee, suggesting it should include other citizens interested in attracting in dustry. Boyle said it would be possible to add members later if council wishes. Another new job was also created due to the establish ment of the Huron County police committee which will deal with the new com munications system. Mayor Boyle was named Exeter’s representative. Each of the five county towns will have one appointed represen tative along with the police chief. Councillor Lossy Fuller ended up with the task of chairing two standing com-, mittees, property and parks and social and community services. In addition she will serve on the public works and sanitation committees. Members of the various committees are as follows, with the first named being chairman: Executive and finance — Boyle, Simmons, MacGregor and Wright. Police — MacGregor, Patterson and Campbell. Public Works — Wright, MacGregor, Fuller, Cameron and Patterson. Social and community ser vices — Fuller and William son. Sanitation — Simmons, Campbell, Fuller and Patterson. Property and parks — Fuller, Cameron and Williamson. Fire board — Boyle, Sim mons and MacGregor. Patterson will continue as building inspector liaison, while Cameron and Campbell will serve on the planning board. Simmons returns as the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority member. Wright will be the council representative on the cemetery board and Boyle will act on the South Huron rec centre board of manage ment. J One crash, one breakin One breakin, one distur bance and one accident were investigated by the Exeter Police this week. The accident occurred Tuesday at the intersection of Sanders and Andrew St., involving vehicles driven by Margaret Wilson, London, and Alvin Epp, Exeter. Damage was set at $50 by Constable George Robert son. A charge has been laid as the result of a disturbance at Les Pines Hotel, Saturday. A double pane glass window was broken, causing about $300 in damage. Constable Jim Barnes investigated, One theft of over $200 was reported, that being at the Pizza Factory on Monday. That investigation is being conducted by Constable Robertson. Inch-deep snows or knee-high drifts, nothing handles snow removal like a John Deere Lawn and Garden Tractor with snow thrower. Pick a tractor from 8 to 19.9 horsepower, Then team it with a snow thrower, 32 to 46 inches wide. All throwers have a 12-inch auger. And a reversible cutting edge for extra wear. The swivel discharge chute lets you control direction of throw from the driver's seat. WERE VERY BIG ON SERVICE. EXETER BLYTH (519) 235-1115 (519) 523-4244
