J, TEMPLEMAN Mrs. Cameron Vivian, Mrs. John Miller and Mrs. Charles Douglas hosted the Citizenship and World Affairs meeting of the Staffa Women’s Institute held in the township hall at Staffa, Wednesday. Guest speaker for the evening was Bobin Daynard with a most interesting talk on the economic situation, here and abroad. He also told about the black market in Africa and India and what he felt about foreign aid in these nminfrip«t Following his talk Robin showed a few slides on Iran where he was revamping potato storages in 76. Mrs. John Miller presided welcoming the members, their husbands and friends and opened the meeting with the Institute Ode and Mary Stewart Collect. Roll Call was answered by naming something in use on your farm or in your home which came from another country. Mrs. John Templeman gave the highlights of a past event of the Staffa W.I., telling about a bus trip to Sharon and the Holland Marsh in 1964. Members were reminded of a change of time and place for the December meeting. It is to be held at the home of Mrs. Russell Worden Tuesday, December 12 at 2 p.m. Everyone is to bring a gift for a nursing home and your secret pal. A humorous reading “Grandma’s Off Her Rocker” was given by Mrs. John Miller. 0 Canada closed the meeting followed by lunch served by the hostesses. Mr.!& Mrs. Russell Miller and Mr. & Mrs. Ken Duncan, Kirkton were in Detroit Friday attending the funeral of their aunt, the late Mrs. Ralph Miller. Play cards at Brinsley By GORDON MORLEY BRINSLEY Mr. & Mrs. Don Allen and Mr. & Mrs. Eva Hodgins were the conveners for the euchre party held Friday night at the Brinsley Com­ munity Hall with seven tables in play. Prize winners were: Ladies high, Desta Rock; lone hands, Mrs. Harold Guilfoyle; low, Mrs. Wilbert Lewis; men’s high, Mrs. Jean Miller (playing a man’s card); lone hands, Alonzo Hodgins; low, Harold Guilfoyle. Mr. & Mrs. Fred Lewis and Mr. & Mrs. Wilbert Lewis will convene the next party. Cecil Ellwood attended the opening of the new Brinsley bridge, Thursday. The men and women were busy sanding and varnishing the floor in the basement of the United Church during the week. St. Mary’s Anglican ladies catered to the luncheon for the men at the opening of the bridge in the West McGillivray Hall, Thur­ sday. United Church had no service Sunday due to the ice-storm. Mr. & Mrs. Garnet Trevithick, St. Thomas were visitors Thursday with Mr. & Mrs. Jack Trevithick. Brinsley UCW held their December Chistmas meeting at the home of Mrs. Fred Lewis, Thursday night. Although these instructions suit most such carpeting, read the manufacturer's instructions for any deviation in technique.To install cushioned carpet 2-inch-wide double-face .pplied flush with the wall around the en­ tire room; then the carpet is rolled out. Cut a slit in carpeting for protruding pipes, etc. Then trim to fit the outline of the protrusion for a snug fit. 16.
