the goalie to keep Hensall
ahead. At the 4:37 mark
Steve Grainger scored again
unassisted.
In the third period,

and it looked like it would be
the fourth tie game for
Hensall, but Ron May scored
an unassisted goal with 1.17

The Cyclones pulled their
goalie and applied strong
offensive pressure but the

Mommersteeg and Darrell
Preszcator held them off to
the end.

Two Exeter teams failed
in their bids to bring home
silverware from area tour
naments over the weekend.
The local bantams took
turns watching from the
penalty box as Blenheim
beat them 4-3 in overtime in
the Ilderton semi-finals,
while the Exeter Waxers
were clipped 3-0 by Mt.
Brydges in the "B” final of
the Parkhill novice event.
The bantams served 32

then scored the winner after
three minutes in the sudden

three in the Saturday novice
tournament at Parkhill
where they battled their way
into the ‘B’ championship
game.
They dropped the opening
tilt to Forest by a 5-1 verdict
and then came back with an
impressive 5-2 win over

only goal in the opener,
finishing off a play with Rob
McLean and Jon O’Connor.
The Waxers jumped into a
quick 3-0 lead against
Strathroy in the second out

singles came off the sticks
of Jeff Dalrymple, Allan
Blommaert and B. J. Batten.
Scott Boyd and Jarett Kobe
drew assists on the first
career goals for Batten and
Blommaert.
In the final, the Waxers
lost the services of leading
scorer Jon O’Connor due to
illness and had the wind
taken out of their sails early
in the contest when Mt.
Brydges scored after only 15
seconds of play on their way
to the three-goal triumph.
The Waxers split a pair of
Shamrock league tilts dur
ing the busy week as well,
dropping a 6-0 affair to
Lucan on Wednesday and

of the second period on a
