Sitting members Lossy Fuller. Don MacGregor, Ted Wright, Derry Boyle and Harold Patterson all remarked on how enjoyable it had been serving with retiring members Bruce Shaw and Ken Ottewell, and the duo replied in kind. Shaw and Ottewell receiv- HURON SANITATION Owned by John J. Both men have been asked to sit on the planning board. “It’s been a good and plea sant experience in most cases,” Ottewell said in reference to his past two years on council. He said it was rewarding to see things done and added that he had learned to accept other opinions for what they are worth and suggested this was a necessity for council members. In his final remarks, Shaw said there were a couple of concerns council would have to deal with in the future, namely a noise bylaw and the necessary encourage ment of industrial growth. He urged members to do their homework, noting this was essential for the ef ficient operation of meetings. He said that when he entered council eight years ago he thought it would be fun, and while he admitted that was probably an im mature thing to say, he noted that the work had in deed been fun. “It was a tremendous experience and worthwhile,” he added. “It was good, I enjoyed it,” he told members, suggesting that he had been able to mature with the job. However, he said, “I have a terrible fear that when I leave here there are a lot of things I have not done”. Page 19 COMPLETE 24 HR.
