In the business, a discussion was held about a skit to be presented at achievement day which is November 25 at Parkhill. Mr. & Mrs. Allan Hill were hosts at a birthday party on Sunday in honour of their daughter, Nancy St. Pierre of Lucan and son-in-law Bill McHugh of Nairn held at the Crock ‘N’ Block in London. Nancey and Sam Taylor, Scott and Mary of Swift Current, Saskatchewan, are visiting with Nancey’s parents, Mr. & Mrs. Wilmer Scott and other relatives in the community. Brinsley Mr. & Mrs. George Prest spent a couple of days in Toronto the past week. United Church Women held their November meeting Wednesday night at the home of Mrs. Wilbert Lewis. Cecil Ellwood visited Sunday with Mr. & Mrs. George Prest. Mr. & Mrs. Fred Lewis, Mr. & Mrs. Wilbert Lewis and Carolyn were supper guests Sunday with Mr. & Mrs. Jim Hodgins and Andrea, Strathroy; celebrating Fred’s birthday. The Gillies children visited Saturday with Kathy and Bill Prest and family. The first euchre party for the fall and winter months will be held Friday night in the Community Hall, Brinsley. Mr. & Mrs. Jim Morley were recent visitors with Mr. & Mrs. JoeiDurand. Zion By MRS. THOMAS HERN The sixth meeting of Elimville I 4-H homemaking club was held at the home of Mrs. Harry Hern. This meeting was a party and each member brought a friend. Barb Skinner the vice- president opened the meeting with the 4-H pledge. Several games were played. A delicious meal of pizza, lasagna, pink velvet and maple treasure was enjoyed by all. Plans were made for the last meeting and achievement day was discussed. By MRS. IRVIN RADER DASHWOOD The quarterly meeting of Zion Lutheran church Women’s Missionary meeting was held with Helen Nadiger in charge of opening devotions. Mrs. M. Mellecke and Mrs. Bill Becker reported on the LWML District Convention held in Kitchener. The following officers were elected. President, Mrs. Delmar Miller; vice- president, Mrs. Mellecke; treasurer, Mrs. F-reida Keller; Christian Growth Chairman, Mrs, Bill Becker. Mrs. Arnold Becker presented Mrs. Albert Miller with a gift on behalf of the Society. Best wishes' and heartfelt prayers go with her as she and Albert make their home in Kitchener. A social time followed. Attend workshop Mrs. Charles Martene, Helen Nadiger, Mrs. Florence Keller, Mrs. Freida Keller and Mrs. Delmar Miller attended a Christian Growth Workshop sponsored by the Mitchell Zone LWML at Seebach Hill. A 4-H hallowe'en The sixth meeting of Dashwood Club 2 4-H girls was held Tuesday as a Hallowe’en party. Fifteen members and the two leaders were present. The club had a pot luck supper followed by an impromptu skit performed by some members. The books and Achievement Day were dis­ cussed. Personals Sunday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Verner Sorensen were the latter’s dad, Erwin Holt, her brothers, Robert and Donald, her sister, Deb­ bie and friend, Steve Martin all of Grand Bend. Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Rader were Sunday guests with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Miller and girls, Zion. Mrs. Dave Schultz and David and Mrs. Nora Koessel, Detroit, spent Sun­ day with Mr. and Mrs. Albert Miller. Mrs. Koessel returned to Kitchener with Mr. and Mrs. Earl Stumpf who also visited there. Bonnie Ziler is a patient in Time: A circus that’s always packing up and moving away. Mr. & Mrs. Joe Murphy, Toronto, Mr. & Mrs. Ken Smith, Burlington and Mr. .& Mrs. George Sherk, Brant­ ford, were weekend visitors with Mr. & Mrs. Lloyd Guenther.
