The president Mrs. Harry Strang opened the meeting. The devotional wa£ prepared by Mrs. Barbara Corbett, stressing that anniversaries recall achievements of the past and the hope for the future lies in our vibrant youth. Special music was provided by a choir of Sunday School members, with David Dougall pianist and Peter Dougall guitarist. Mrs. Shirley Luther of Hensall sang “How Great Thou Art’’ accompanied by guest pianist Mrs. Leila Finkbeiner. The guest speaker was Mrs. Edwards of Goderich speaking on thanksgiving in “everything sacrificial.’’ Mrs. Norah Taylor presented the History of Caven W.M.S. dating back 80 years to 1898, togehter with a panel of Mrs. Sally Laing, Mrs. Dorothy Iles, Mrs. Bea Ersman and Mrs. Hazel Pryde, who very capably brought us down through the years to 1978. Mrs. Jack Kydd the oldest member attending, lit the candles on the anniversary cake. Themeetingclosed with the singing of an anniversary prayer followed by a social hour.
