Sunday visitors with Mr. & Mrs. MacLeod Mills were Mr. & Mrs. Ray Mills and boys, Centralia, Mr. & Mrs. Bruce Mills and Barry Mills, all of London. Mr. & Mrs. Hamilton Hodgins and Berton were Sunday dinner guests with Mr. & Mrs. Calvin Grose, Glanworth. Several ladies in the community attended the craft show at the Lucan arena, Saturday. Saturday Mr. & Mrs. Mike Taziar and family were guests at the 25th wedding anniversary of Mr. & Mrs. Richard Wale, London. Mr. & Mrs. Ernest Ferguson visited Thursday with Mr. & Mrs. Dave Hord, Strathroy. Sunday, Mr. & Mrs. MacLeod Mills and Barry attended anniversary ser­ vice at Centralia and were dinner guests of Mr. & Mrs. Bob Blair. Brenda, Brian and Karen Dykeman visited Saturday with Mr. & Mrs. Ernest Ferguson. Sunday visitors with Mr. & Mrs. Mike Taziar were Mr. & Mrs. John Czajkowski, Stoney Creek. IRVIN RADER The annual banquet for the girls’ and boys’ slo-pitch teams, husbands, wives and friends was held Saturday evening at the community centre with 215 in atten­ dance. Winners of the dummy awards were: Making it home on an overthrow; Vera Guenther, an old pair of run­ ning shoes, the bare foot kid: Nancy Rader, an old pair of rubber boots; Paul Watson, strike out artist, a plastic bat; Gary Tieman, longest throw, a broken bowling ball; Willie O’Rourke and Bob Wein, friendliest guys on the teams, toy guns on Key chains; Bob and Bernice Boogemans, an old pane of glass to replace the windshield broken at one of the games. Celebrate 90th birthday Mrs. Adeline Kraft, formerly of Dashwood and now living at the Blue Water Rest Home was guest of honor Saturday, when 32 of her nieces and nephews gathered for supper at the Zurich hotel to celebrate her approaching 90th birthday. Seniors to exercise The Dashwood Senior Citizens met Monday, with 42 present. They decided to have two afternoons a month for recreation with the first taking place on Tuesday. Group 1 with Mrs. Eben Weigand convener was in charge. Mrs. Weigand gave two readings. Mrs. Harold Carroll gave a reading, “Shimmen Baum’s Shoe Sale.” A sing song was held. Eleanor Salmon assisted by her mother showed pictures and souvenirs of her summer spent at St. Pierre. Personals Mr. and Mrs. Wellwood Gill, Maplewoods Apartments, Zurich, were supper guests with Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Rader, Thursday, prior to moving to Ailsa Craig. Sharon Bennett, Lon­ don, spent Thursday with her parents. Carl Wein, Hamner, On­ tario spent some time with his mother, Mrs. Hilda Wein and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Keller were taken by sur­ prise when 26 members of their family gathered to celebrate Adolph’s ap­ proaching 78t.h birthday. Those present were from Exeter, Brantford, London, Portage La Prairie, New Brunswick, Lambeth, Chatham, Mildway, Sarnia and Guelph. A great time was had by all.
