Times-Advocate, September 28, 1978 Anniversary at Brinsley By GORDON MORLEY A great number attended the anniversary service Sunday morning in the Brinsley United Church with Rev. Grant Mills being the guest speaker, assisted by Mr. Snell. Special an­ niversary music was ren­ dered by Bob Heywood and Calvin Horner and the choir sang as their number “Sing ye Praises.” Douglas Lewis was organist. A joint confirmation service was held in the Trinity Church, Ailsa Craig Sunday September 24 with 13 young people from the three ■churches Parkhill, Ailsa Craig, and Brinsley being confirmed by the Right Rev. David Ragg. Sunday October 8 at 11 a.m. the Harvest Thanksgiving Service will be held at St. Mary’s Brinsley. Neil Trevithick is able to be home after being hospitalized in Brantford Hospital for a few weeks. Mr. & Mrs. Jim Hodgins and Andrea, Strathroy, Mr. & Mrs. Wilbert Lewis and Carolyn, Mike Horner, Rae, Elmer, Ruth and Viola Lewis were guests Sunday with Mr. & Mrs. Fred Lewis. Creditor? 4-H is underway By MISS ELLA MORLOCK CREDITON The members of the Crediton Club Five gathered at the home of Mrs. Mary Muller for the first meeting of the 4-H Homemaking Club, Essential Edibles. Helen Glavin, president, opened the meeting with the 4-H pledge. The girls proceeded to make Metric Granola with each member measuring or stirring something. Mrs. Muller then put the granola in a baking dish and then in the oven for 45 minutes. Mrs. Flemming talked about the Canada Food Guide requirements for day to day eating. Mrs. Muller conducted the grocery bag game. There were numerous food articles in a grocery bag and each member in turn had to pick up an article from the bag and put it in the proper food group, By the time this was finished the granola was finished and all had some to eat with a glass of orange juice. All of the members enjoyed its nutty taste. The 4-H club will be called The Millie Meters. The next meeting will be held at the home of Jane Sullivan on October 2 at 7 p.m. Mark event at Zion UC By MRS. THOMAS HERN ZION Zion West United Church held their anniversary service Sunday with Mr. Paul Schott, supply minister in charge of the service. Mrs. Schott told the childrens story. Gordon Johnson and Mrs. Carol Betteridge sang duets with Mrs. Lome Hern ac­ companying on the organ. Mrs. Barry Reid, Heather and Lori, London, Mr. & Mrs. Fred Bowden, Cen­ tralia were Sunday guests with Mr. & Mrs. Ray Jaques, Steven and Susan. Mr, & Mrs. Clifton Jaques had as dinner guests Mr. & Mrs. Lome Hern and Lynne and Mr. & Mrs. Norman Jaques.
