Over 50 people attended and enjoyed the sports program The United Church service Sunday was ably conducted by members of the Church Session. Using the theme “Hands” participating in the service were Mr. & Mrs, Graham Eagleson, Ken Eagleson, Ken Larmer and Stuart Bullock. The sr. choir added to the service by singing, “Precious Lord, take my hand.” John Smithers and Brian Bullock are continuing their studies at U.W.O London, Joanne and Douglas Walper at the University of Guelph, Joe Eagleson, at Fanshawe College, London, Lagerwerf and Lagerwerf as secretaries in London and Janet Bullock continuing her duties at Dashwood Industries Ltd. Mr. & Mrs. Lawrence Brown have returned home, following a five week holiday in European countries. Todd Stevens, Dresden, holidayed last week with his cousins Douglas and Brian Woodburn. Debbie and Carolyn Clark of Thedford visited this past week end with their grand­ parents, Mr. & Mrs. Ed Bloomfield. FRED BOWDEN CENTRALIA Mr. Harold Tripp has returned home following a month’s vacation with his son and daughter-in-law and family, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Tripp and family. Whitehorse. While there he enjoyed a tour of the Yukon and a trip to Alaska. Daryl Tripp ac­ companied his grandfather on the flight but returned home after a two weeks visit. Mrs. Wm. Ford, Ex­ eter was also a visitor with the Tripp family in the Yukon and returned home with her father. Personals Mr. and Mrs. Richard Shoebottom spent the holi­ day weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Shoebottom in Parry Sound and attended the Folley Fall Fair. Bradley, Lori and Christine Shoebottom returned home with their parents holidays with their grand­ parents. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Hirtzel spent the Labour Day weekend at Fisher­ man’s Cove. Mrs. Ron Brittain, Rich­ mond Hill was a weekend guest at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Powe. Miss Elaine Powe has returned to St. Catherines to resume her teaching duties at the Lakeport Secondary School. Alan Powe left this week to begin studies at the University of Guelph. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bowden joined their family Sunday for a get together at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Allison and family, Ailsa Craig. Mr. Paul Schott continued his series of sermons on the book of Acts in the United Church Sunday morning. He stressed the importance of the church and said it should be a place of lear- ning, of fellowship, of worship and there should be reverence, happiness and growth. The choir under the leadership of the organist, Douglas Gill, sang an anthem. This coming Sun­ day the service will be at the usual time and the Sunday school service will be resumed.433 MAIN ST.
