Mrs. Elson Lynn and Mrs. Dan Coward were the hostesses. The roll call was answered by “Newsflash from another country.” Miss Ruth Skinner opened the meeting with an article “Responsibility”. Mrs. Marjorie Herdman read the scripture. Miss Skinner led in prayer, followed by a poem “To You.” Mrs. Allen Johns showed Mr. & Mrs. Floyd Cooper visited Niagara Falls last and family and Robert Bray week end. parents Mr. & Mrs. Charles Martin. Mrs. Jim Wilkinson and) family, Wheatley spent a week with her parents Mr. & Mrs. Norman Jaques. Mr. Walkinson joined them for the holiday week end. Mr. & Mrs. Lounie Murch’ and boys, Downsview visited recently with Mr. & Mrs. Ross Skinner and family. Mrs. Dorothy Kyle, St. Catharines(and Mrs. Arnold Merner, Zurich visited with Mr. & Mrs. Alvin Cooper recently. Mr. & Mrs. Howard Pym Mrs. Ed Johns and Miss Kathy Cooper. Kathleen Verbe-ke received County Honors for completing 6 4-H homemaking clubs and Nancy Cornish received for organ the same day. The Elimville U.C.W. will also provide 13 dozen cookies for this rest area. It was decided to invite Woodham, Kirkton, Zion, Thames Road and Chiselhurst to the October meeting. 4-H Achievement The 4-H girls from Elimville recently attended Achievement pay for the garden club at the Huron Hall at the Centralia College. Elimville I had a skit “Come See My Garden” with all members taking part. The leaders were Mrs. Murray Coward and Mrs. Frank Kints. Elimville II set up an exhibit “A well planned vegetable garden” with Lori Kerslake and Melissa Seldon as com- Johns will also play the' mentators. The leaders were very interesting slides of the tour she and her husband had enjoyed this winter through the Caribbean Islands. Mrs. Philip Hern thanked her saying this fitted in with the Bible study this year. Mrs. Hern read an article “Count Your Blessing” and Mrs. Coward sang the same hymn at different intervals. Mrs. Freeman Horne played the piano. The hymn “Still, still with Thee, when purple morning breaketh followed by an article “The World needs more Quiet­ ness” read by Miss Skinner closed the devotional portion of the meeting. Mrs. Gilbert Johns and Mrs. Howard Pym will help at the United Church rest area at the ploughing match, September 29. Personals Sympathy is extended to the family of the late Mrs. Kenneth Aulenback who passed away in St. Mary’s Memorial Hospital, August 30 th. Rev. Elwood Morden and Mrs. Morden have returned home after spending their holidays in Manitoba with friends where Rev. Morden had his first charge. Mr. and Mrs. Austin Hobbs attended the 100th birthday celebration in honor of Gilbert Ferris. Dinner and open house was held at his home on No. 7 highway Monday. Visitors for the last two weeks with Mr. and Mrs. Gordon McRobert and fami­ ly were Doreen’s sister Mrs. Lorraine Morris, and daughter Linda, and her hus­ band Mr. and Mrs. Frank Arbiu, and granddaughter Elizabeth Ruddy, all of California. One of the highlights of their visit was a surprise party held Friday evening on the occasion of Gordon’s birthday. Attending besides Doreen’s family were Mr. and Mrs. Clifford McRobert, Gordon’s father and mother. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Bakker and family have returned from a motor trip to Northern Ontario.
